Y/N would wake up. Absolutely exhausted but.. What she woke up to was quite traumatizing. She could hear screams of terror, accompanied by thunder whips and the thrashing of the rain hitting her window.

'Not again' she had thought the dragon had ceased its terror on the town.

She'd spring out of bed, her adrenaline giving her new found energy.

She'd throw together something to wear and would put her boots on, running throughout her house to find her mom who was in the kitchen looking out the window.

It was oddly cold... so, so cold as it started to seep through to her bones. "Mom! Why is it so cold?" there was no need to address what was happening outside, everyone already knew.

"We don't have any firewood or charcoal.. I've searched every nook and cranny" Y/N's mom would respond, trembling as she hugged herself.

Y/N would think for a moment before running back up to her room, ripping her sheets off her bed and running back down to give it to her mom.

"This should help"

"N-no I couldn't" she'd say, lifting a blushed hand "I'm already using mine and you need to keep warm too"

Before either of them could say more a window only feet away would break through, a small rock flying through the wind being the culprit.

"We need to do what the knights of favonius told us to do"

"What, go out there in hopes someone will be kind and brave enough to open the door and let us in?!"

"Yes! I'm going whether or not you like it. Last time his terror lasted 2 hours! Who knows how long it'll last this time!"

This is where Y/N would drop her blanket on the floor, opening and rushing out the door.

The last thing she heard was her mom calling her a brat, and probably calling her to come back but the wind was already too loud to hear anything else.

Y/N would go from house to house, knocking on the doors yet there would be no answer. She was about to give up and retreat back to home before she heard someone call out through the batters of wind.

"Hey! You! Come here and get inside!"

She'd look back and she could make out a small image of a KOF. she'd run up to them and the kind man would lightly yet firmly grab her wrist, pulling her to the KOF HQ.

"Wait! I have to go get my mom!" she'd pull against who she recognized as Huffman. "I'm sorry but staying out here any longer could put you into big danger, more than we are now!"

As he finished his sentences, a screech from the dreaded dragon could be heard.

Huffman would give up on convincing and would firmly drag Y/N to the HQ, locking the door after him.

There were a few people, kids, here and there. Jean, Lisa, and Keaya were all there trying to keep everyone calm.

It seemed so much more quiet and peaceful even with the tenacity in the air. but she needed to go get her mom.

A few minutes later of sitting against the wall, her knees tucked to her chest, a gentle voice would call Y/N out of her head.

she'd would look up, being greeted by the seemingly perfectly pleasant Calvary Captain kneeling in front of her.

"Hey, how are you holding up there?" he'd ask his tone soft. "Not good, I just want my mom. she's still in the house with no way to light a fire and one of the windows broke"

"Oh that's certainly a problem you have there.. Well how about this, I go out personally and go get her. Would that make you feel more at ease while she's gone?"
