Elizabeth cringed at the pain from
Being attacked, she wasn't even sure what happened, she couldn't even remember, but where was she going? She was moving but she wasn't, she was being carried? No dragged. The snow stung in her wounds but she was sure she would die any moment so it wouldn't matter.
But how did i get here?"You'd better move right now"
Elizabeth wasn't sure where her dad was taking her, her dad never took her anywhere she was surprised they even took her on this vacation, though she had a feeling something was going on, this was different, he was in a huge rush and they where walking through the snowy woods, it was getting late and he kept looking around, like he was watching for someone.
He grabbed Elizabeth by the arm and shoved her in front of him.
"Please, where are we going"
Elizabeth almost said dad, she wasn't allowed to call him that anymore, she wasn't his real daughter after all.
"Don't fucking worry about it you ungrateful rat" he spat
"You just had to ruin everything didn't you"
He was mumbling to himself angrily.Elizabeth had recently uncovered a truth about herself, one that put her parents at risk, and they wouldn't take that chance.
Elizabeth had a feeling she knew exactly what was happening now, she would have exposed them and now, now they'd need to do away with her.
She heard her dad fiddle with the gun he kept trying to hide from her, she wondered why they needed a gun on vacation.
She turned around and looked him somberly in the eyes.
"was all this just a plan to get rid of me?" She said.
Her dad glared at her.
"This is your fault, don't you look at me like that, if only you'd kept to your fucking self none of this would be happening" he spat.
Elizabeth was a little angry that she seemed so easy to throw away.
"Cant you just let me go, leave me here?" She said quietly.
"So you can go and tell everyone how we treated you? S'that it yeah? shut the fuck up" he pointed the gun at her, it seemed like the entire forest went quite, no birds, not even the wind, not a peep.
Elizabeth waited, why would she run? The outcome wouldn't be different.
She heard a twig snap, it was loud and echoed through the woods, Elizabeth instinctively looked up.
Her lungs emptied themselves and her heart nearly stopped.
Her dad must have noticed her face because he looked confused and turned around, on a ledge stood a wolf,,no not quite it was much larger than any normal wolf, it looked more like a man than any wolf Elizabeth has seen.
The thing growled and drooled, staring at her father, from behind it came another one, and another one.
Her dad in his rapidly increasing state of panic began to shoot at them.
They jumped down and began attacking him, he flailed and screamed for his life, Elizabeth wanted to run but she couldn't look away, this man who tormented her for years seemed to be getting a hot steaming plate of karma, but did he deserve this? Either way it didn't matter now, in mere minutes he was dead, and the monsters began gnawing at his flesh tearing it to shreds, covering themselves in his blood.
They didn't seem to notice Elizabeth standing there, even to scary wolf men she was was unnoticeable, though maybe this time it was a good thing.
Slowly she stepped back carefully as not to make the same mistake as they did snapping a twig, but she did, this was a forest there where fucking twigs everywhere.
The creatures looked at her in unison, growling and snapping their teeth, Elizabeth gasped and turned tail to run, she tumbled over every possible root and twig, the woods where unfamiliar how could she possibly know.
She stumbled and buried her hands cutting them on splinters and twigs.
"Owe! Ah no no!" She got up without looking and ran.
She wasn't sure if shes ever ran so fast in her life but even then she seemed to barely keep ahead of them, suddenly there was a drop, the floor was gone and she tumbled down the dip, smashing into old tree roots and bushes.
Sorely she stood up once more, suddenly her willingness to die was absent, she looked up, the wolf monsters seemed to be gone, maybe she got away, slowly— not that she could go any faster after a fall like that—she walked forward, holding her arm, was it broken? Didn't matter.
She seemed to fall into a hole it was dark, and damp and cold and stupid, she was so angry, why was she here?!
All she did was help and it was never enough for them, they never cared about her, and now they where gonna get rid of her, had they done their job she would have been gone by now.
The cold air stung her skin, she felt it begin to creep even Into her bones, she was bleeding and was wet, if she didn't bleed to death the cold was next up to bat.
After what seemed like an agonizing eternity she was able to find a way out of the hole, it wasn't far but in her state every mere step was excruciating.
She looked around, again there was a silence, so quiet, like the forest was empty.
She breathed heavily, she wanted to cry but somehow it wasn't happening, she was in to much pain to cry.
She walked further, not sure what way she was going, she was in a foreign country even if she found someone would they be able to help?
Elizabeth felt like she was being watched, surly there where more than three monsters, and she was sure they had managed to follow her, she was their prey and they weren't normal wolves or men they where something else. She sat down, more like her legs gave out but she was accepting it, she needed to rest, the snow felt nice, slightly numbing the pain. Elizabeth fell asleep, the warmth from her jacket kept her alive but she was cold.
She woke up to the sound of growling.
Her eyes shot open and and she gasped as she saw the monsters close on her.
She kicked at it but it bit her leg and wouldn't let go she tried pulling away, kicking with her other foot, another one moved in an dug its teeth into her shoulder, she screamed and flailed, the last one was fast and bit her hand, effectively removing her thumb.
This was all happening so quickly she wasn't even sure it was real, the pain was so overwhelming she hardly felt anything at all.
She managed to grab a sharp stick, it was thick she swung it and smashed it through the skull of the monster that took her thumb, it yowled and fell over dead, she couldn't reach the other two, they dragged her a ways, the snow pooling red with her blood.
She couldn't hear anything anymore, like static in her head she was beginning to fade, her vision was failing her, the monsters suddenly looked up and all in the same direction and then they fled, like lightning they where gone, Elizabeth was hardly alive but she saw a figure, this time she was sure it was a man, a human one, he crouched down and looked at her, he said something and began dragging her with him but she couldn't understand what it was he said she didn't think it would matter surly she would die any minute.
And then everything faded away, like it was never there, and she closed her eyes.
