Elizabeth Pov:

I sighed as I ate my cabbage. "The farm isn't getting any better." My father complained.

"What's to say a rain might not come by?" My optimistic mother asked. I looked up at her.

"I'm done," I said getting up. "You didn't finish your dinner, dear?" My mother said. " I'm not that hungry," I said. " You were complaining all day. Sit," My father said in a demanding voice. I paused. I turned around and sat back down. I stared at the bowel of a wet cabbage. " I talked to John. He said he might let us stay if-" My father was interrupted by the sound of gunshots. I turned. " Get to the back room now." My dad said. I shot up out of my chair. I ran over to the door. I heard a plane above. I looked at my father. " Go get the sheep," he said. I furrowed my eyebrows. " Now!" He yelled. I jumped and ran outside. I could see soldiers with guns in the distance. They were coming this way. I ran over to the sheep pen. " Come on!" I yelled at them. I herded them into the house. One of them left the herd. I groaned and ran after it. " come on you stupid animal!" I shouted pushing it. It baa'd and ran into the house. I followed it in. I shut the door. We didn't have a lock. I moved a cabinet in front of the door. My father was standing by the door. I shooed the sheep into the room. " Come on," My father said putting his hand on my shoulder. I brushed his handoff and ran into the room. My mother was on the floor coughing. I put my hand on her back. I looked at her worriedly. " Fucking Nazi's" My dad swore. Whose fault do you think it is that we're here? I held my tongue.

After about an hour the shooting stopped. " Elizabeth. Go check it out" My father said. I sighed. I looked at my Mother. She looked at me. 'Please' her face read. I walked over to the door. I slowly opened it and looked outside. I walked into the kitchen. " It's clear," I said looking out the windows. There were bodies spread across the land. I heard the door open. I looked back. My dad helped my mom out of the back room. I heard something clink. I turned. " Fire in the hole!" Someone shouted. A grenade came in through the window. My mom screamed. I jumped on the grenade.

Anticipation... Tick. Tick. Tick.

Pain erupted through my right shoulder and I screamed. The right side of my face burned. I opened my eyes. I couldn't see out my right eye. I whined. Gunshots went off. I tried to move. I couldn't. All I could do was sit there in pain and sob. The gunshots stopped. the only noise was the sheep baas. I sniffed. I heard a smash. I looked over to my left slowly. They had blown the cabinet over and were walking into the house. I could barely see through the blurry tears. Pairs of boots surrounded me. One of them stopped in front of my face. They said something in a foreign language. I screamed as they touched me. I felt myself being lifted onto a flat of some sort. I cried. " Please. Please" I sobbed. Something hit the back of my head. It was a foreign feeling. Everything went black and I fell unconscious.

I breathed in. I opened my eyes. " ow" I said. There was a pain in my right eye. I tried to move my arms. Something was stopping my left arm. I couldn't feel my right. My body was all tingly. I looked around. A white roof blinding me momentarily. I tried moving my neck. Something was stopping me. I heard footsteps. I started to panic. I breathed in heavily. My heartbeat was increasing. A man stood over me. He looked down at me. He picked up a light. He waved it around in front of my eye. I squinted my eye. He said something in a foreign language. More people entered the room. I tried to look around. I could only see this one man. He had an expression of bordem. "Sie antwortet. Emit die Tests" he said. I couldn't understand. I felt something sharp enter my neck. I groaned. The only word I could make out was that he said 'Die'. " Am I going to die?" I said. He looked down at me. A small smile crossed his lips. " We're saving you, my dear child," He said. I swallowed. Whatever they stuck in me started to hurt. Like, burn. I screamed. Something got shoved into my mouth. I tried to move my body parts. It was useless. I thrashed around against the restraints. The fiery pain spread down to my arm. The man was still there. I studied his features through the hot tears. He had a tiny mustache just under his nose and glasses. He had a white coat on but that was all I could tell. The pain started to subside. His small smile turned into a larger one. "Machen Sie den Rest. Wenn sie stirbt... Werfen Sie sie weg wie der Rest. Ich bin zuversichtlich, was diese angeht." The man in the white coat said. "Aber Herr... Sie ist eine Frau?" Someone else said. "Und alle Männer sind gestorben. Tun Sie es!" The man yelled then walked away. More sharp pains entered me. This time all over. Three in my arm. One on the other side of my neck. 6 on each leg. The pain hit me like a bullet. I screamed the most I could. It was useless. I clenched my jaw as the pain. I grabbed onto the nearest thing. I squeezed it as hard as I could. It crumpled under my hand. I heard a couple of shoes against the floor move around. More restraints got put on me. Someone wearing a mask walked over to me. I tried to yell at them. Whatever was in my mouth was rubbery. I couldn't spit it out. They put something on my forehead. I noticed a flashing light. It moved down over my eye. I couldn't see anything. I thrashed around some more. A bright light erupted from the machine. I whined at the pain. It flashed. I blinked. It removed itself from my face. The man with the mask removed it from my face. He looked at me for a while longer. He tilted his head as he looked at me. I furrowed my eyebrows. The pain started to subside like the first dose. A wave of drowsiness overcame me. I let go of whatever I was holding. My eyelids slowly shut and everything went black.

My eyes opened. I looked around. I was sitting in a room. I looked down. My left arm was chained to a chair along with my legs. I looked at my right arm. It wasn't there. I looked at my shoulder. There was a bandage with blood on it wrapped around my arm. Realization set in. My arm wasn't there. I looked straight ahead. I couldn't see out of my right eye. Was my eye gone as well? " Ah, Elizabeth. Good to see you awake" Somone said as they entered. They looked at me. It was the man from earlier. " Who are you?" I asked. He had a thick German accent. " Nazi?" I asked. He shook his head. " I'm your... savior," He said coming up to me. He tightened the straps on me. " Where's my arm?" I asked. He looked up at me. He smiled. " What did you not notice it wasn't there?" he asked smiling. I kept my deadpanning expression. " not one for a laugh huh?" he said moving to my right leg. " What did you do to me?" I asked. That tingly feeling was still there. " you're one of the first to ever survive our experiments" He said. I furrowed my eyebrows. " You experimented on me?" I asked. " What? Like you care? We saved you from that stack of wood and bricks" He said. " My family?" I asked. He raised his hand and mimicked a gun shooting into his head. I could feel myself tearing up. " You killed them?" I asked clenching my jaw. " It doesn't really matter. You won't remember any of this anyway" he said backing up. I made a confused expression. " Welcome to HYDRA" He whispered as he backed up. More people entered. They had guns. I looked around and them cautiously. " Now. It would have been a lot better if you were trained in specialty ops but... you aren't. So we're going to improvise." he said making his way over to a stand with a screen on it. He whistled as he pressed some buttons. I heard something big move around above my head. " Oh, yeah. You're gonna have some killer scars when you wake up. Sorry about that." He said. Two people grabbed my head and turned it facing straight. My heart rate picked up and my breathing got heavier. They put something rubber in my mouth again. I screamed as something attached itself to my head. " What a noisy one. We'll just work on that" He said. A man with a book came and walked in front of me. He stood there and looked at his book. "Schlange, Macht, Schwarz, Trauernde, Fehlend, Instinkt, Beobachten, Tod, Null, Katastrophalen" he said. He looked up at me " A loud whirring noise started. I tried to look around but I couldn't. A sharp pain started in my head. I squeezed my eyes closed. The whirring got louder. It felt like my brain was getting chopped up. Everything went black.
