Let me stay

chapter one

" Okay that's about it . Remember kid, if you have any thing you don't understand , don't be afraid to stay back okay? "

" Okay ! " I said , gathering my homework and quickly headed to the door not even bothering to shove the things I was holding into my bag

" Thank Ms. Jardine ! " I called out before leaving

" Tay ! " She shouted from inside the classroom . I snickered , knowing how much she hated being addressed formally yet I do it all the time just to mess with her.

I pushed the doors to the school's main entrance open and the front porch is nearly empty , except for the few students that always stayed back to smoke. How long exactly did I stayed back for? I was pretty sure it was only 10 minutes , 15 minutes top.

I looked down at my watch and literally freaked out. It's four O'clock and my work shift started about thirty minutes ago. I felt my heart pounding in my chest. To say I was afraid was an understatement . I've already been late twice and my boss said that if I receive a third strike, he'll fire me . I really can't loose this job !

I hurried onto the road so I could get to the opposite side but halfway crossing the road my phone rang , startling me and making me scatter my homework all over the road.

" H-hello? " I spoke into the receiver while squating down so I could pick the papers up.

" Vic ? Where are you?! The boss is fuming! He said that if you don't get here in ten minutes , he'll fire you ! " my best friend and co-worker yelled into the phone

" I-I know , I just left school and I'll be there in five minutes . Just stall him for me , please Hime ? I'll be there - "

I couldn't finish my sentence because all my focus went towards the blue vehicle that was speeding my way. And it doesn't seem to be slowing down , not even one bit. I knew that if I moved now , I could avoid my insides being splattered all over the road but if only my legs would comprehend. I felt like a deer in the headlights and like the sole of my shoes were replaced with sticky tape . Everything was happening so fast yet to me everything was happening in slow motion. I could see the car coming but at the same time it was like it wasn't moving at all . I could hear voices and the car's loud honk but the noises seemed jumbled up together and blurred out. I didn't know what to do , so I just closed my eyes and accept my fate.

Suddenly I felt a force around my mid section and when I opened my eyes, the car had drove passed me and everything went back to normal motion. The loud buzzing noise from the car still lingered through my ears . I could feel arms around my waist. I turned around to see a guy with porcelain skin , Saphirre eyes and Jet black hair. He let go of me and was panting like he just ran a marathon. I knew who he was . He's the guy that everyone talks about. The guy that has an attitude that's as cold as ice yet is strangely popular. He's Kellin Quinn.

" What the hell! You almost killed yourself ! " He screamed at me , his face turning red from anger.

I was still a little shaken up so all I managed to muster up was a small nod which he rolled his eyes at and returmed back to his friends that was sitting on the steps . He lit a cigarette up , taking puffs from it while shooting glares at me.

I was about to thank him for saving my life but I couldn't. I'm was to afraid to. I was afraid that if I did, he might punch me in the eye. I'm getting a vibe that says he doesn't like me that much. If his glares could burn holes into my skin , I would have turned into ashes by now.

I turned on my heels and look both ways before running on to the road and quickly collecting my stuff before making my way , this time , safely onto the other side. I examined my phone and thank goodness the car didn't ran over it .

" H-hime , there ? " I asked , not fully recovered from the incident

" What just happened ? I heard a car passed by , almost like it would have ran over you and there was acreaming , alot of it. Are you okay ? Are you hurt ? " Jaime asked , his voice lacing with concern which I appreciate dearly.

" Car , me . Bang , almost "

" Shit! You can't work , not in this condition. You need to go home and sober up . I will take over for you and try to reason with the boss "

" B-but Hime , Asking Alexandria's concert "

" Hey, my best friend almost lost his life okay? Plus you're too shaken up and will probably mix up the orders . You know how the boss hates that. Go home and take a nice warm bath. I'll see you soon okay? Take care! " And with that he hung up on me.

I guess he knew that if he didn't , I would have protest against it. I mean Asking Alexandria's one of his favourite bands and now he's missing the concert all because he has to work double shift because of me. I really don't know how ever am I going to make up for the things he's done for me. Maybe I'll get him meet and greet passes to the next Asking Alexandria concert! Yeah! I'll put money aside for that.

I breathed out a sigh of relief , thankful that I didn't have to work today . I really don't know how am I going to handle things if I actually did work.

I started walking to the direction of my house after I've recovered a little bit but not before sneaking a quick glance at Kellin. He wasn't glaring at me anymore but he was definately looking at my direction. I gulped and quickly turn my head away.

Why does he make me so nervous?
