Over the next few Earth Days, Lily and James took the time to explore the area they were now in.

"James, look, a forest!" Lily called one day. The entire place was large and white, but it was almost like an apartment building. Everyone had one, where they could make it look however they wanted. There was a nice outside area too. It was on an island, with everything they needed on it somewhere.

"I see it," James answered. He was busy looking through the glass that showed what his son was up to.
"They gave him to your sister," he reported. Lily frowned and walked over to see.

Baby Harry was crying in a crib while her sister and her spouse fussed over their real son.

"How could she?" She whispered.
"Oh, Harry'll be ok! Sirius will come for him," James said.
"But you saw, Sirius is in Azkaban for the murder that Peter did," Lily said.

If you think it was that calm when she found out, think again.

"I know. Maybe Remus will show up. He always promised to stick with us. He loved Harry, Lily," James answered.
"I don't know. Let's look at Remus," she adjusted the knob on the looking glass and they found Remus in a dark room, it looked like the shrieking shack, looking at photos of them, then he did something even worse. He ripped Sirius out of every single photo except one. Their wedding photo, where they stood side by side, smiling at their best friends.
Lily pulled back and almost started crying. James, alarmed, comforted her as best he could.
"We'll watch over them. Isn't there anyway to become a ghost?" He asked. A man, none in particular, just a good wizard, shook his head.
"That's what your time in the empty room was for. If you wanted to be a ghost, that was the time to decide," he answered. James frowned.
"Isn't there a way just to get down to earth to see my son?"
The man shook his head again.
"It's ok, James, we got this looking glass. We shall watch over Harry his entire life if it need be," Lily said. Her smile was sad as she watched Harry's cries get louder until Petunia took the crib and shoved him under the stairs.
"I hope he gets his chance to go to Hogwarts and my sister doesn't stop him. But, Sirius...he's jailed for something he didn't do. And Remus thinks he's evil. James, our friends are worse off than us," Lily said. James nodded slowly. Their friends had a tough life now. They would help them as best they could.

Not that they knew it, but gifts and thoughts could be sent down from
heaven.
