I realized I should just squeeze the date in here, so here you go. I split it so the end of it will be another chapter. I feel if I include it all here it'll be too long sorry. All I gotta say about Zayn is #ZaynDefenseSquad. I loved Waiting on the World to Change by John Mayer since I was 10 so I tried to slide it into this chapter. I know the actual meaning doesn't match but one verse fit in nicely. Disclaimer: I am aware that Lauren doesn't have blue eyes but for all intensive purposes of the pick up line in this chapter she will. I think this is my favorite chapter I've written so far. Thanks a lot for all the reads honestly never thought I'd be so close to 3k! Hope you enjoy & don't forget to comment, vote, and/or share this chapter & follow me on twitter @Zany_for_Zaynie - Mari x

Zayn's POV

My dad says I've got an unbelievable charm on the ladies, guess it's time I put it to use. "I can see your mouth moving, but your eyes are blue, like the ocean, and I'm lost at sea. Say would you go on a date with me?" I bit down on my lower lip; I'm no stranger to relationships and girls always tell me it's hot when I bite my lip.

I expected a roll of the eyes or for her to flirt back, but not a smack to the back of the head. I could only pout at both her rejection and assault. "Hey, what gives? I asked nicely, a simple no would've done the job." I soothingly rubbed my scalp to get rid of the stinging sensation.

"You've just read that you're meant to take down an evil force to defend my people at only seventeen years old, and the only thing you got from that is the romantic side to it? You're a right idiot Jesus Christ." She muttered a string of profanity under her breath.

"Excuse me for wanting to spoil such a beautiful girl like the princess she is." I looked up shyly from behind my feminine-like lashes, offering a timid smile.

"You do realize I'm actually a princess right?" There was a hint of a smile and her cheeks turned rosy for a split second, but soon her poker face returned.

"Yes, and I'm aware that I can still spoil you. I may not have riches anywhere near yours, but I can still give you the world."

"Enough of your weak flirting attempts boy, we've gotta get out before someone catches us." As much as this deflated my ego, keeping my self out of harm's way is more important.

Being a ninja star throwing master and all, I consider myself quite the sly ninja. I opened the door slowly trying my best to avoid making any noise. I could see a shadow indicating Sofia was right behind me. I silently shut the door once Sofia had gone through. When we approached the big wooden door, I just shoved it open and swam as fast as I could go.

I chose to ignore Sofia's labored breath as she tried to keep up whisper yelling for me to 'slow down you idiot I thought we agreed we'd be careful are you trying to get yourself killed'. I was too busy rejoicing in the adrenaline rush to care.

That was until I bumped into something sturdy and fell to the ground. Sofia wasn't able to stop in time, so like a domino effect, she fell on me in a crumpled heap. I dared to look up and see what I had bumped into. Judging from the crown resting atop his head and Sofia mentioning she was an only child, I'll take a lucky guess and say this is the king. Way to make a first impression Zayn.

"Who might you be young man? Why must you race around my palace as if it were a kiddy playground?" His raised eyebrows and authoritative aura had me rooted to the spot. I wringed my clammy hands and harshly bit my lip, my signature signs of distress.

"I'm Zayn sir, I met Sofia yesterday at the cafe. We were just playing tag, I'm sorry I didn't think of how immature that was." I put up a confident, polite front in hopes of pleasing this man. He is my future father-in-law after all.
