"Max, can you get me four water bottles?" I ask my best friend.
"Sure thing, Katie." Max Green says, exiting the dressing room that I'm currently setting up.
Max has been my best friend since grade three.
We graduated together and my uncle was kind enough to hire him to work alongside me.
I had just wheeled the dressing rack for our newest performers.
It consisted of plaid flannels, ripped black skinny jeans, tank tops, and various band merch.
"Here we go." Max says, tossing me the bottles of water.
"Thanks." I say, filing them into the mini fridge.
"So do you really think your uncle picked a good band to sign away with this time?"
I pushed my blonde hair out of my face and shrugged.
"To be honest, I'm not even sure who he signed."
"Well what does the door say?" Max says.
I grabbed my clip board and both of us exited the dressing room.
5 Seconds of Summer.
"That's a neat name, I think they'll get along with me." Max says.
I laugh at him.
"Don't laugh, me and them could be best friends." he says, fluffing out his green plaid flannel.
"Oh Max." I tease. "Just because you wear plaid and ripped jeans doesn't make you punk rock."
Max opened his mouth to argue but the sound of loud laughter silenced us both.
"Ah, here we are!" I hear my uncle exclaim.
I watch as four tall boys follow behind him.
"Max, Kate! These are our lovely boys we'll be working with until they find a better management." Uncle Derek says smiling.
"It's nice to meet you." I say politely. "I'm Kate and this is Max."
"If any of you need anything, please let us know." Max says.
"Hello." says the tall Asian looking one. "I'm Calum Hood."
"I'm Michael Clifford." says the one with bright red hair.
"I'm Luke Hemmings." says the tall and lanky blonde one.
"I'm Ashton Irwin." says the wavy haired one wearing a red bandana.
I smiled at each of them and blushed as Ashton smiled at me.
"Kate, why don't you show them to their dressing room?" my uncle suggests. "Max I need you over here."
I nodded and lowered my gaze.
"Right this way."
