Another knock on the door drew all 3 of ours attention. I hesitated to move but luckily one of the officers - I still hadn't gotten their names, or maybe I had but hadn't paid attention to the information at the time. It's horrible just watching me right now isn't it? This is distracting me. Thinking. UGH. Anyways, the door was opened to my lovely next door neighbours - I actually mean this as well, unlike some of the other people on our road they are not stuck up or pretentious. Always a plus in my book. Their names are Noah Zhao and Harry Feldt and they are the sweetest couple I have ever seen - I'd literally be envious of them if I was interested in love in the slightest, which I'm not. Noah is of Chinese descent and he has these charming eyes that just draw you in and welcome you into his home. He is the epitome of an angel in my eyes. Harry though, if Noah is the angel, he's the devil. Tall and muscular (intimidation personified in my eyes) and he is rather...territorial (...yeah I'll go with that) I like to say. Don't tell him that though because he'd have my neck if I so much as breath wrongly in Noah's direction. Any who, distraction at Its finest but otherwise you won't know who's who. That's not right. who is 'you'?. meh.
"Is everything ok in here?" the soft voice of Noah rang out, snapping me from my strange thoughts. Almost as soon as I appeared within his eyesight he rushed to me and enveloped me in a hug. I was shocked to say the least and not looking at Harry smartly to say the most. I wondered what he knew in all honesty, for him to react like this. But this felt so... so soft. Comforting. Warm, unlike usual it didn't freak me out, it didn't disgust me. Which was nice. Something about the hug just snapped every tether repressing my emotions; I just broke down in his arms, crying my eyes out for the parents I had lost so suddenly. We slowly sunk to the ground unaware of the activity around us. Harry was talking softly to the officers about what the situation was, If I was looking at him I would have been wondering if it was the end of the world with the uncharacteristic softness in them. All of them were looking with sympathy in their eyes while I slowly cried myself into oblivion.
CASE 1
Hi, umm you may be a little confused as to why this is a) the 21st chapter and b) divided into 4 parts.
So My novel chapters kinda go down instead of up because its, ya know, a countdown. And I divided it into 4 parts as I thought it would be too long as a single chapter.
YOU ARE READING
