Maya and Yoongi: OTP Questions

I've been scrolling through Tumblr for a few OTP Prompts to reminisce of the good old days when I had no idea how to write on my own when I came across posts filled with questions for authors to write about their characters or OC's, whether it be personality, relationships, or just completely random details. I got a little intrigued after specifically seeing many interesting OTP Question Prompts and thinking how Maya and Yoongi would apply to them.

If you didn't know already, in the Éternel series, Maya Prasanna and Min Yoongi are the primary romantic and platonic couple. Their relationship is incredibly important to the story and how the plot develops, but it can get a little depressing and dark sometimes - even for me. I mean, how many times have you as a reader wanted to strangle either Maya or Yoongi for being an absolute idiot? (or strangle me, for that matter. yes, I'm talking about you, Izzy). As I'm currently writing the third book, I find myself needing a break from all of the angst and frustration. I want to go to the pure side of their relationship, the one that isn't affected by the world they live in.

Although, some of these questions will deal with the bad side of their relationship. These questions will vary - some may be important to the story, and some may be completely random. I chose these questions specifically from multiple posts as I think these bring the most interesting answers and insights into Maya and Yoongi's relationship.

So, without further ado, here are a shit ton of OTP Questions solely about Maya and Yoongi (plus some extra questions at the end that are from a writer's standpoint)

1. Who is the most affectionate?
It honestly depends on the day and the mood of either of them. Some days, Maya is crazy clingy and doesn't let go of Yoongi for hours, whereas other days, she hits him with a spatula every time he puts his hand on her waist - and vice versa. Due to Maya's past and upbringing, I believe she has a harder time being affectionate, especially during the events of the third book, Éternel: Between Two Worlds. In this case, I'd rule Yoongi to be the more affectionate one, as he always actively goes out of his way to comfort Maya, even when she refuses. Plus, his small gestures such as making tea every night before bed or running his fingers through her hair to get her to fall asleep after she has a nightmare really add to this decision.

2. What is their favorite feature of their partner's?
Maya's favorite feature on Yoongi are his hands. I can't even count the amount of times she's held his hand just to calm down from something frustrating or angering, the times she's looked around for his hand in the middle of the night while trying to fall asleep only for him to reach out and grab her hand as he knew what she was looking for, the times she's felt all of her pain just melt away as his fingers caressed her face. To Maya, his hands, and even his arms, are the safest place in her world. When she's being held or touched by him, nothing else exists.

As for Yoongi, his favorite feature on Maya are her eyes. Everytime he looks into them, he can see her past pain, her present pain, and the promise to never feel pain again in the future. The fire deep within her eyes that are a part of her inner dragon, it's one thing that keeps him grounded when he's lost. The way they change colors to show her emotions are of course fascinating, but he doesn't need to pay attention to the colors to know what she's feeling. If anything, the colors are reminders of what to do when she's feeling a certain type of way - and almost always, the reaction is to comfort her. I don't think he would ever willingly run away or be scared of those burning red eyes that display the pure fury contained within her, because if anything, it's just another reminder that she needs him with her.

3. What do they like the least about each other?
As with any relationship, partners will love and hate something about each other. Of course, Maya and Yoongi are no exception to this. Yoongi absolutely hates when Maya insists she has to do everything on her own, as it makes him feel like he is being underappreciated, but more importantly, it worries him to no end as she usually says this regarding dangerous or life-risking situations. If anything, the only reason he hates this part of her so much is because he doesn't want to lose her again. Meanwhile, Maya dislikes Yoongi's need to always check up or dig into her business, both pre-Claim and post-Claim. When Yoongi would ask why she'd be gone for so long, she'd get annoyed with him being so nosy, but if anything, it was more a concern for Yoongi and the rest of the boys finding out about The Claim. After they arrived in The Claim, Yoongi would still try to talk to Maya about official business or ask how she was feeling, and as you've probably seen, she gets irritated pretty easily when he does so. But once again, this is more out of concern as to not worry Yoongi, since he's usually right when he asks if something is wrong with her. Thankfully, with time, they seem to help each other with these weaknesses and their relationship became stronger than ever before.
