She smiled to herself as she walked the palace grounds. The staff of Castle Atlas greeted her as she went and Guinevere, in her very good mood that day, smiled warmly at them.

Today was his birthday and she wanted to surprise him with the very thing he's always wanted. She could already imagine him all teary-eyed once he opens up the gift she brought.

"You're lucky I love you, death chanter." She said to herself with a smile.

Tigreal told her Granger would be in the courtyard with Alucard and Harith. She and her brother has been visiting Castle Atlas for a while to send gifts to Princess Silvanna that Guinevere already grew familiar with the place. Of course, Princess Silvanna didn't mind that Guinevere has taken interest with Granger.

The two met three months ago when the Baroque family first visited. Guinevere was astonished by his mysterious aura while Granger kept on an uninterested stance. Everyone noticed how the two grew from strangers to friends over the course of the months.

Little did they know that the princess has unconsciously fallen in love with the mysterious death chanter.

Guinevere hummed to herself as she went and when she drew closer to the courtyard, she heard a series of laughter and an all too familiar groan. She paused in her tracks and decided to not reveal herself quite yet. A part of her wanted to eavesdrop even though she knew it was wrong.

"Oh come on, it's nothing to be ashamed of if you ask me." It was Alucard.

"He's right, you know. I mean she can get a bit handful but she's still a princess! A beautiful one at that!" It was Harith.

"Princess or not, I'm not getting romantically involved with her at all. Ever." It was Granger.

Guinevere's grip on her gift tightened when she heard him. Who exactly were they talking about? As if her thoughts were being heard, Alucard spoke out with an agonized tone.

"Oh come on! Princess Guinevere! Of the House of Baroque! That's a great find! You know, a lot envies her. You should consider yourself lucky." Alucard continues.

Guinevere pursed her lips as she stood behind the pillar, keeping her from the men's view. So they were talking about her afterall.

"She's spoiled. I don't think I'm lucky with a girl like that."

Those words cut her heart like a knife.

"Spoiled? What do you mean?" Harith asked in confusion.

"Of course she's spoiled, she's a princess!" Alucard exclaimed.

Guinevere's chest was tightening by the minute, debating whether or not she will keep on listening.

"Yeah and I'm not into princesses. I don't like her that way, I don't think I ever could."

"We'll never know, you two actually look good together." Harith pointed out.

"Please, she annoys the hell out of me. We'll never get along."

That was it. She's had enough. She sucked in a breath and plastered on a smile. She came here to deliver her birthday present for him and she's doing just that. After that, she'll head straight home. She'll just annoy him if she'll stay anyway.

"Hi!" Guinevere greeted which made all three turn to her.

Alucard visibly jumped at her entrance while Harith blinked in shock. Granger kept a straight face but deep down, he was just as shocked as the two.

"Princess! Didn't know you'll be visiting today." Harith greeted with a smile.

Guinevere mastered a smile back. Her heart was aching so badly but she needed to act natural.
