''No, no, absolutely not. This is absurd!'' Klaus Mikaelson yelled

Christine got up and sped to him, grabbing the hybrid by his shirt's collar.

''We are not letting you kill yourself brother, darkness or not.'' Elijah said calmy

Klaus almost felt tear in his eyes, he didn't want to do it either, but he had to, for his daughter. In truth he was afraid, afraid of being alone in whatever comes after, afraid he was never gonna see his family again. He would never admit it, but he was so grateful for the duo for following him after he said goodbye to the rest of his family.

''Klaus, look at me, you can not make your daughter an orphan. You two have a family here, I have nothing, it has to be me because if it's not me then it's gonna be one of you.'' Christine said, taking Klaus's face in her hands ''It's okay, it's all gonna be okay. You have to let me go.'' she continued as she took the white oak stake from his hands.

The hybrid was took a great darkness in himself to protect his daughter and in order to stop it he had to die, or so he thought until Elijah and Christine showed up.

''No, no! There has to be another way, please.'' Klaus said, tears forming in his eyes

Christine took a step back, the oak in her hands now.

''Did you really had to ruin my vacation?'' Bonnie Bennett said, trying to sound upset, but everyone could see the amused spark in her chocolate eyes. She reached the three, a soft smile on her face.

Christine looked relieved ''Thank you for coming.''

The witch turned to Klaus, smiling ''Many people have the desire to change, but only a few actually do it. Caroline told me about you, she couldn't be prouder. Now let's get started.''

Klaus looked at Elijah, who now looked as confused as him ''Wait, I thought me and Klaus will die together and make you Hope's legal guardian.''

Christine shook her head, tears in her eyes as she looked at the two brothers. ''I knew you wouldn't agree if I told you the truth. Your daughter needs her father and you two need each other. Your family needs you.''

Klaus took a step forward, he was crying ''You are my family too. No, I won't allow it!''

Christine cupped his face with her hands once again, both of them crying.

''I am so proud of you, Niklaus Mikaelson. You were never a monster, your father's sins are not yours to bear. I've known you for a thousand years and you have always been by my side. You accepted me when my own family wouldn't.'' she took Elijah's hand, pulling him closer, bringing the two brothers in a desperate hug ''I love you more than anything in the whole world, never forget that.''

The three broke apart and together said their vow ''Always and forever.''

Klaus kissed her forehead muttering an I love you. Elijah embraced her in a tight hug, burring his face in her raven hair, feeling her scent for one last time.

''Thank you, for taking the burden of me all these year, thank you for being the only one there for me while I was there for everyone else. You have my word you won't be forgotten, I will do right by your name. I love you.'' he whispered as he held her close

After saying goodbye, Elijah sped away. He just couldn't watch her die. Christine took a deep breath, her shaky hands found Bonnie's warm and firm ones. She didn't really realized she was actually doing it until the witch started her spell.
In a thousand years Christine faced death a lot, but never stopped to think that she will die one day too. And now that day arrived and she couldn't shake her fear away. It wasn't the actual death she feared, no, it was what she left behind. She was afraid she was gonna be alone, she was afraid she was never gonna see them again, them, her chosen family. But she wouldn't be alone on the other side, right? She closed her eyes and it was like she was seeing the ones she lost again. Josh and Aiden waved at her, Hayley and Jackson offered her the kindest smiles, Finn nodded his head in her direction. But one of them caught her attention.

She felt her heart breaking ''Stefan.'' she whispered. He looked at her with love and kindness in his eyes. He saw him opening his mouth to say something when a wave of pain hit her. She fell on her knees.

Stefan cupped her face in his hands ''Hey, stay with me, it's not your time yet. Get up.''

And with all the strength she had left she got up and opened her eyes, screaming in agony.

''It's done, the darkness is in you now.'' Bonnie said

Klaus felt it leaving and knew his closest friend was now carrying the burden. He tried to took a step forward, but Christine lifted up a hand to stop him. She took the white oak stake, she needed to get rid of the darkness forever.

''Leave, please, go. I don't want you to see this. Tell your little girl her godmother loves her.'' she said

Klaus nodded with tears in his eyes as he sped both him and Bonnie away.

''Okay, I can do this and even if I can't I have to.'' she told herself

And right there and then, holding the stake to her heart, death never felt more real. But she was ready, she had to be. She took one deep breath, her last one and she smiled. It wasn't scary anymore, it was peaceful, she felt peaceful. She knew the ones she loved were safe, she was at peace. She was ready, she was ready to...

''Variant identified.'' A female voice said from behind her

Christine put the white oak stake down and turned around ''Excuse me, a what now?'' she asked confused as she glared at the people in strange suits. Were they there to take her to hell?

''On behalf of the Time Variance Authority, I hereby arrest you for crimes against the Sacred Timeline. Hands up, you are coming with us.'' the stranger continued

That's when Christine first truly felt it, the darkness that was now inside of her. She felt it begging to be released. Her vision was blurry as every part of her was fighting the urge to murder in cold blood the people standing before her. She could smell their blood, it was like a drug, luring her in.

''Leave or I am going to kill you.'' She said, more of a warning than a threat

Nobody moved ''Last chance, Variant.'' the woman said while pointing something that looked like a metal stick to her and that stick was the last thing she saw before blacking out.
