Endless Love- DEVAKSHI

•Prologue•

"Tum Dev ke yaha kaam karti ho?" The man asked in a devilish tone making Sonakshi cringe.

Remembering what her parents taught- do not engage much with unknown faces- she didn't gave a heed, much to his annoyance.

"Arre beta, ghabrao mat. Mai Ishwari ko jaanta hu. Barso se jaanta hu." He said but still she didn't gave him any reaction.

"Accha kal tum Ishwari ko kehna ki Khatri aane wala hai milne, woh samajh jaayegi." He said and his voice gave off the vibe that he is going to do something wrong.

Without engaging anything with Khatri, she sat on her scooty and rode off to her residence mentally making a note to talk to Mr. Dixit about this person Khatri before she tells to Ishwari.

Sonakshi reached Ishwari Niwaas a little late than usual. She got off the auto, as her scooty had ditched her in the last minute, and saw Dev coming out of his house.

"Dr. Bose, good morning." Dev greeted.

"Good morning, Mr. Dixit." She greeted and he started moving towards his car when Sonakshi stopped him.

"Mr. Dixit, mujhe aap se kuch baat karni hai." She said and he looked at his watch to see whether he has some time to spare or not- luckily, he had.

"Boliye." He said and went towards her.

"Umm... kal raat jab mai ghar waapis jaa rahi thi toh ek aadmi mujhse puchne laga ki mai aap ke yaha karti hu ki nahi." She said and he looked at her with 'why-is-she-telling-me-this' expression. Sonakshi understood his confusion and directly came to the point.

"Woh aadmi ne kaha ki woh aunty ji ko barso se jaanta hai aur mujhse kaha ki mai aunty ji ko keh du ki woh unn se milne aayega."

"Uss aadmi ka naam kya tha?" Dev asked.

"Umm... Kh-Khatri!" She said as she remembered his name and Dev's anger rose making his eyes red. Sonakshi looked at him and she instantly knew that Khatri was not the type of person he described himself to be.

"Mr, Dixit, is everything fine?" She asked bringing Dev out of his past's flashback. He cleared his throat and nodded his head in positive.

"Umm... did you tell anything about this to Maa?" Dev asked.

"No. Khatri's voice was giving me some negative vibes so I decided to talk to you about it before telling this to aunty ji." She said and Dev sighed in relief.

"Okay. Aap please Maa ko iss baare mein kuch mat kahiyega, woh bohot pareshaan ho jaayegi." Dev said and Sonakshi nodded her head in positive.

"Also, please tell Neha not to let Khatri enter this house." Dev said as he knew that Neha would definitely listen to Sonakshi.

"Sure, I will tell her." She said.

"I should go now." Dev said and quickly got in his car driving off to his office while Sonakshi saw his car getting disappeared in the busy road of Delhi.

She went inside the house and apologized Ishwari for coming late while Radharani started making a fuss for this. Ishwari shrugged off the topic as it was not a big deal.

Sonakshi quickly instructed Kichu bhaiya about Ishwari's meal for the day and went to Neha's room to tell her what Dev had told her.

"Neha?" She knocked on her door.

"Dr. Bose? Aap yaha?" Neha asked.

"Haa mujhe tum se kuch baat karni hai." Sonakshi asked as she stood near the door.

"Andar aa ke baithiye aur boliye jo bhi bol na hai." Neha asked her to come inside and Sonakshi complied and sat on the bed beside Neha.

"Woh baat yeh hai ki Mr. Dixit ne mujhse kaha hai aap se kehne ke liye ki kisi bhi Khatri naam ke insaan ko iss ghar ke andar aane na de." Sonakshi said.

Neha never knew what was the problem her mother has with Khatri but she decided not to ask her as it was in the past.

"Okay." Neha said and smiled at Sonakshi who smiled in return.

The day passed as usual with Sonakshi making Ishwari eat her meals, then playing with Nikki and with Radharani making big deal of little little things while Ishwari saved Sonakshi from all of it.

It was now finally the time when Sonakshi was supposed to go home. She was coming out of the house when she saw Dev's car entering the premise.

"Dr. Bose, let me drop you." Dev said as he rolled down the glasses and Sonakshi was taken aback.

"It's fine Mr. Dixit, I will go." She said.

"Please, Dr. Bose. I insist and waise bhi you won't get any auto at this time." Said Dev as he opened the passenger seat door for her to sit. Sonakshi looked at the road once and saw it eerily silent. Without any choice left, she sat inside.

Dev started driving while both of them sat in an awkward silent. Dev cleared his throat and started the conversation.

"Thank you." He said and Sonakshi looked at him confused.

"For?" She asked.

"For telling me about Khatri before talking to Maa." He said and Sonakshi smiled.

"It's fine Mr. Dixit. I did what I felt was right." She said dispersing his 'thank you'.

"You have a big heart, but still. You don't know what you have prevented by talking to me first." He said and smiled at her.

Sonakshi wanted to know what she had prevented but knowing that it was his family matter, she decided not to ask him anything further.

Soon Dev dropped her at her place and saying a quick 'good night' she got off the car and Dev looked at her disappearing with a smile on his face which was unknown to him.
