"Well, that's the last of what I needed to pack." Jade said, as she zipped up her luggage. She has a flight in 5 hours back to Fort City, where she works as a senior PR manager at The Century PR Firm. One of the best PR Firms in the country.

Jake bit his lip. His head lowered, pondering.

"You don't have to take me to the airport, you know. I'll just call the cab service."

"No, I'll take you there. I- I'll drive you to the airport." Jake responded. "Do you want to drop by your parents house first?" He asked, to which Jade nodded.

"But we should leave now." said Jade, donning her jacket while looking at Jake then picked up her sling bag.

"Your flight's still in 5 hours, why are you in a hurry?"

"We have to stop by somewhere before going to the airport." Jade announced. "So hurry up and load my luggage before I change my mind!" she added, as she threw a pillow at Jake, landing on his shoulder. He could only chuckle then sigh a bit.

Change her mind? What does that even mean?

Jake loaded Jade's luggage on to the trunk of his sedan as she took her seat in the front and proceeded to wear her seatbelt. Jake then climbed on to the driver's seat and nodded at her, signalling their departure from his house.

They arrived at Jade's parents' house in 20 minutes. After getting off the car the two made their way inside. They were met with lots of warm embrace from Jade's parents and siblings.

"Did you both sleep well last night?" Rebecca, Jade's mother, asked. Both Jade and Jake looked at each other sheepishly and nod in unison. "Yeah, we did, mom."

"Jake, thank you for taking good care of our baby girl. I wish you weren't on tour most of the time so you can both see each other often. It's a bit of a concern for us that she's all alone in Fort City."

"Uh.. hehe. It's okay. We've been friends for so long and I don't mind taking care of her. I can visit her there, when our tour takes a stop in Fort City." Jade looked at Jake with widened, surprised, almost questioning eyes.

"C'mon, that would be nice. I wish you both could come back and stay here. Put some roots down? Right, Arthur?" Rebecca smiled at them both while caressing Jade's face.

Arthur, Jade's father nod in approval. "Why didn't you guys date again? It would be best to have dated someone you're close with. Someone you've known all your life. Someone who feels like coming home." Arthur followed up.

The room fell silent. Awkwardly silent. Jake's thoughts were running at lighting speed and wants to break the ice already.

"She didn't want to." Jake playfully said, chuckling, making Jade give him a death stare. "Ha-ha, very funny." Jade sarcastically said, smirking. "I think it's time for us to go now, dork." Jade playfully punched Jake's defined chest. And all Jake could do was flash a grin, a big one.

He looks cute. Ugh, Jade, get yourself together.

"Why do you avoid this conversation altogether, Jade?" Her older brother, Mark, teased. Jade rolled her eyes as everyone, including Jake, laughed. "For real, we have to go."

"Your flight's still more or less in four hours though, you're going to be way too early." said Rebecca. "That's what I told her! But she said she's taking me somewhere. I don't even know where." Jake proudly said, as he's found an ally.

"So my cold hearted little sister is taking you on a date?" Jade scoffs at her brother. "Of course not!" she protested. We're just going to..." She stopped mid sentence.
