Kunimi’s POV:
I lay next to Kindaichi gazing emptily at the ceiling. My eyes are red and puffy from all the crying. I couldn't believe what I had just read. There was no way this was real.
I began thinking of all the different things we could do to get Kageyama back. Soon concluding that we shouldn't do anything immense, not because he didn't deserve it, but because I wanted it to come from our hearts and hold a sort of meaningfulness.
I began racking my brain for a plan though nothing seemed to spring out at me. That's when it came to me. What if we did what Kageyama did for us?
Bring Kageyama a small purposeful gift and then bring him somewhere small. But where does he like to go? the court?
"Kin......" I say once, after a few moments of no response, I attempted to gain his attentiveness. "Kin." This time I shake him a bit. But once again, no response. "Kin!" I raised my voice a bit this time which seemed to shake him from his thoughts.
He hummed a bit in response which bothered me quite a bit though I pushed down a snarky response since I knew he was acting like this because of the letter.
"Hey...I have a small idea on something we might be able to do." I mumbled. Kindaichi sat right up and looked at me.
"Wait, really?" He asked me hopefully. I nodded a bit as I pushed myself upright as well.
"Yes, really, it's a bit of a stretch to whether it will work or not but, I think anything has a chance of working if we put our heart into it," I utter rather confidently.
"Well then, let me hear your idea," Kindiachi said, leaning a bit in anticipation and suspense.
"I thought we could do a mini scavenger hunt...We could send him to all the places that he had bought us and also go to a few places from when we were younger. The last place could be the park where we are with something special as our apology." I offered, fiddling with my fingers anxiously.
"Sounds like...a great plan. Yes! We have to do it!" he exclaimed with a bright smile. Though I noticed it slowly faded as he seemed to have a question on his mind.
    "What?"
"How do we even know he'll go along with this?"
I hadn't thought about that. It was a good question. There had to be something that we could do. Someone we could get to help. Kageyama had to be close enough to someone, right? Someone who could convince Kageyama to go along with this crazy plan?
That's when my mind drifted to a certain redhead, his best friend.
"How about that tangerine...his name was...uh-"
    "Hinata?"
"Yes! Him! What if we asked him to help us out?" I asked, my mind racing as it began figuring things out. "We could ask him to give him the first clue then maybe, just maybe, he'll go along with this,"
"That might work! You're a genius!" Kindaichi declared, peppering kisses all over my face. I just laughed in response as I tried to push his face away from mine. It tickled so much though I still loved it so much.
Maybe one day we could have fun like this with Kageyama. But only if all goes well.
It was a nice thought, holding Kageyama tightly in my arms while Kindaichi cuddled close. Making dinner and just eating under the stars, almost like what happened at the park, smothering each other in kisses just so that Kageyama knows that Kindaichi and I do love him more than anything.
Though just as the thought made me happy, it also made me sad. It just reminded me that we might not even get the chance to tell him that we love him back. I know it may sound ridiculous that I want him to be with us so badly, but I can't get him off my mind.
The way his expression looked so hurt. The way his tears stained the crisp sheet of white paper. The way his handwriting seemed so messy and frantic.
It was our fault. No matter what. I fully intend to make things right for all of us.
"Well then, shall we start planning the clues and what order we go in?" Kindaichi asked as he stood up and walked over to his desk. He seemed to be looking for something to write with and something to write on.
"Sure, we wanna get this all fixed as soon as possible, right?" I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, watching as Kindaichi pulled out both a pencil and a green spiral notebook.
He walked back over and sat down, flipping to a random blank page. I peeked over his shoulder and watched as he scribbled down at the top 'Kageyama Scavenger Hunt Ideas'
It was then that I realized that all of this was happening. We would be attempting to make the best gift for Kageyama that he could ask for. I hope this won't make him annoyed or overwhelm him at all. I want everything to be perfect, no matter how crazy I may sound.
"How about he has to do a mini task at each spot as well? That way, we can have evidence that he did the whole thing." I offer, observing as Kindaichi wrote down each place that we went.
I was a little surprised that he remembered every place, but at the same time, I wasn't. Kindaichi tends to be a very observant person. Despite how he acts, he can easily pick on just about anything. Body language, tone of voice, anxiousness, name it, he can spot it.
I knew that this was the work of his masterful observation skills, and for once, I was glad he had them. He could remember each place, each detail, each present. If it had just been me planning this, I would be here for hours.
I had an awful time taking things in, unlike one of my other half, actually, unlike my other halves. Kageyama was an expert in observation as well.
I find it funny that they would ever want to be with or even love someone like me. Someone so closed off and sarcastic. Not that I was complaining.
I am so glad they love me because if they hadn't, I don't know what I would do with myself. I would be even more of a mess than I am now, and I honestly didn't think that could be possible. My mind never stops second-guessing itself. That was until I met Kageyama and Kindaichi. They managed to make me so happy, they managed to make me smile, laugh, and they even managed to make me enjoy volleyball again. Though, every good thing must come to an end, right? I hated even thinking that everything could go wrong once we sort all of this out. But for mine and the other's sake, I hope it doesn't.
"I love that idea. Maybe something like a silly picture in front of something or buying something small as proof." Kindaichi continued from my earlier comment.
"Exactly, and depending on the place, we could even get workers' help. Like at the museum, we could get a worker to hold one of the clues until Kageyama asks for it. To make it a little trickier for him, you know?"
"Yes. That's perfect." Kindaichi said, clearly liking my ideas. "Well then, love, let's get to work."
And with that sentence, hours of planning came into way. We would spend the whole night just sitting there, trying to figure out what the hell we wanted to do to make all of this perfect. Because that was all Kageyama deserved.
    He deserved the best.
And only the best is what we would give him.
