This school thing is so weird! I guess I'm lucky that my next door neighbor is in my class!
"Taehyungie!" I yelled as he stepped in the door. The teacher lifted her hand at me to signal silence.
"Rule number one of first grade," she smiled ,"We use our inside voices."
"Yes, ma'am." I blush.
Taehyung sits at the table with me and pulls a couple of rocks out of his pocket. "Look at what I found beside the school!" There was one with blue specks and one with green specks. I looked at Taehyung with a huge grin.
"These are the coolest rocks I have ever looked at!"
"I know!" he smiles in a square ,"And since blue is your favorite color and green is mine, we each get one!"
"Yep!" He smiles as he hands me the blue speckled rock. "I'll get you more rocks when we're older and I'm a professional rock scientist!" He smiles proudly.
Again, I say ,"Really??"
"Yep! Because I told my momma that I am gonna marry you some day and she said I have to have a good job to buy you gifts."
"Ew!" I giggle ,"I can't marry you."
He pouts ,"Why not?"
"Cooties!"

My mom and dad light the grill as Taehyung's family shows up for a small summer cookout. Taehyung sits beside me and his mom hands us both cards that say "Congratulations on becoming a second grader!" She made them herself
"Thank you, Mrs.Kim!" I smile.
We all eat and the parents start talking and ignoring us. Taehyung grabs my arm and pulls me behind the big oak tree in my yard. "I have a present for you..!"
"Oh no! But I didn't get you anything..." I sulk.
"That's fine,'' He says with a boxy smile ,"This is a promise more than a gift."
He pulls a ring out of his pocket- one of the ones you can get out of a 25cent machine. I was so pretty with it's blue band and little ocean inside.
"A promise for what?" I ask.
"A promise that I'll only have my eyes on you until we're married." He slips the ring onto my pointer finger and kisses my hand.
I scream and run out from behind the tree to find my squirt gun.

Middle school is a lot bigger than elementary... I have been here for a month and I still get lost! I'm sure that Taehyungie knows his way around here- he's good at directions! I peek around a familiar corner and see him at his locker with a couple of boys from our class so I run over.
"Hey, Mira!" He says ,"What's up?" He gives me a small side hug.
"Oh you know..." I glance at the floor. "Just lost and trying to find the principals office... My mom dropped off my lunch. "
