Every day, for the next week, Gokce would always think about her life, and it's turns. She wouldn't play like a normal child did, and everyone assumed it was because of her parents. She thought about her own reasons she was upset. Partially, it was her parents, for she had loved them dearly, but also because her life had been decided for her. Gokce would stay up at night thinking about Osman, and her brother whom she never met, and was on the wrong path. These things rushed through her mind, and hurt her brain.
Whilst children her age were out playing in the tribe, she would sit quietly at the Kilimhane pondering. Ilbilge Hatun soon became worried for her. She would always converse with Hafsa Hatun about Gokce saying, 'She's just a child, it's too much on her. After her parents deaths, she did not need the news of marriage and a brother. Ah Hafsa, maybe I should talk to Bey, get her some help.' Hafsa would usually reply with, 'Ertugrul Bey has a lot on his plate with the brother matter. Maybe after we can postpone the marriage talk.'
As everyday, Gokce was sat solemnly in the prayer shelter. It was not long, until the three sons of Ertugrul Bey came to sit with her. She smiled politely at them, then looked off into the distance. Gunduz turned to Savci worriedly, who in turn, nodded.
'Gokce Baci? I won't ask if you're okay, because you clearly aren't. We are all worried for you, you don't speak, you don't play, you don't eat. What is happening?' No reply. 'Baci? If you won't speak, how will we help? Is it because of your parents? Or the mar-' Osman poked Savci in his ribs. 'Um, about your brother? Just say something.' 'It's about life itself. I contemplate why our world is like this. Betrayals, and traitorous people surround us, and ruin us. Yet here we are, living as if we haven't just lost our loved, as if our loved are our enemies, and if our friends are our spouses. Pray tell, Savci Abi, am I the one who needs help, or is it the world?'
Gokce stood, before nodding, then taking her leave. What she had said, had eased her pain. To let it all out, was a burden lifted off her chest. She felt free. She ran. She runs. She will run.
