Y/n Grace Alliston was a young girl who lived in a little cottage in Oxfordshire. She had a little brother named Justin Mason Alliston. Her mother, Emily Diana Alliston was a respected fashion designer and was well known around the world. Her father, William Jacob Alliston was an officer, and he was the best in town if he said so himself. The Alliston's were a particularly normal family, or so they thought. See Y/n had a secret. She could do astronomically incredible things. She could speak to animals. She understood them completely. She once told her brother of her secret, but he had told their parents. They had grounded y/n for a month, for "Making up such horrendous lies! Speaking to animals! I never!" After that moment y/n kept quiet whenever something strange happened to her. But that had happened four whole years ago. And y/n learned to never speak of such things. However, as the sun rose on the day of y/n's eleventh birthday, and Mrs. and Mr. Alliston were in the living room setting up for her surprise. They saw something flying close to their home. At first they thought that it must be a bird flying by. But the bird kept its eyes locked on their home. Suddenly in a flash the bird had landed on the windowsill, a letter in its beak. Mrs. Alliston jumped in surprise. Mr. Alliston walked towards the owl and took the letter from its beak. It read:

Ms. Y/n. G. Alliston

3rd Largest Bedroom

2875, Aston Avenue,

Oxfordshire

Mr. Alliston looked at the letter curiously. For whom would want to contact his daughter by letter? And have it delivered by an owl? He turned the letter over and read the green words on it.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? Mr. Alliston had never heard of such a school. He slowly walked towards his wife.

"It's an acceptance letter to some school, for y/n. It must be some sort of prank. Because it's a school for witchcraft and wizardry."

Mr. Alliston let out a hearty laugh. Mrs. Alliston took the letter from his hand and examined it. It looked vaguely familiar. As if she had gotten the same letter in her life. She slid her dainty fingers underneath the seal, and opened the letter. She read it over and looked at her husband.

"Yes," She said with a nervous laugh as she composed herself. Why had the letter seemed so familiar? "Yes. It must have been a prank of sorts.

Well let us continue setting up for y/n's party."

They had agreed to never speak of the letter and not mention it to y/n. They suspected that if they kept quiet, the mystery person would not contact them again. They truly believe that it was all a joke until it was y/n's twelfth birthday. And as they set up another owl swooped down with a letter. Mr. Alliston snatched it up and tore it apart. He thought that the person who had sent the letter a year ago had forgotten them. But it was clear now that they hadn't. Yet again Mrs. Alliston was hit with a sense of nostalgia when she saw the letter. Mr. Alliston and Mrs. Alliston agreed once again to never speak of the owl or the letter. They believed yet again that if they continued to ignore the letter that the person who sent the letters would forget about them. And so they did. They had not gotten another letter for an entire year. Until y/n's thirteenth birthday. And that is where our story starts.
