I forgot to add some context for this paragraph last chapter.
"I noticed a sad look under the guise of his smile - I couldn't help but feel bad for him if he had to fake his expressions. Though, this only made me more curious. The sad demeanor in his eyes soon dissipated as he continued." - Percy
The reason why Slimecicle was sad is because according to Slimecicle lore, he's seen many things over the past hundred years. This might mean that he saw Wilbur blow up L'manburg and he saw Wilbur die by the hands of Philza. Because of this, the Slimecicle in the story prefers not remember it.

Leo's POV:
Do you remember that feeling in second grade where you're doing a presentation and everyone's eyes in the room is just burning holes through you? That was the exact feeling that I felt at that moment.
All eyes turned to me as I tugged nervously at my collar, my neck starting to heat up. I turned to Charlie, expecting him to elaborate on it but he just smiled, his face beaming with child-like innocence.
"Guys?" I squeaked. "I already told you! I wouldn't do that! It was like something was controlling me or something!"
Frank raised an eyebrow, who was surprisingly calm in a situation like this. "Well, I don't know about you but the evidence is right here in front of you." He jabbed his thumb to Charlie who waved at me.
I sighed and rubbed my temples, knowing that I had already lost the battle. Feeling a gaze on me, I looked up and stumbled back in surprise as I saw Charlie face to face with me, our foreheads almost touching.
"Uh, is there something on my face?" I asked sheepishly, as Charlie continued to stare at me.
After a minute or two of awkward silence, he blinked as if out of a trance and shook his head.
"Nah man, its just..." he paused in the middle of his sentence. "Are your eyes are gold?"
I shook my head, waving my hands in the same manner. "Quite the opposite, it's brown."
"Oh."
I watched in puzzlement as he scratched the his forehead, possibly thinking of something. I glanced to Percy who shrugged, just as confused as I am.
"It's just, when I saw you, your eyes were a weird shade of gold. Do you wear contacts?"
Now this piqued everyone's interests, including me. Frank seemed to have straighten up while Percy leaned in forward.
"No?" I said, uncertainly.
Charlie didn't say anything but laid down on the floor, producing a small squish sound.
"Anyhow, if it's not to much, can you help me find my other friends? I have a feeling me and Tubbo are not the only ones here."
I made a thumbs up with my hand and flashed a reassuring smile.
"Of course we can! We need all the help we can get and in return we'll help!"
I turned to Frank and Percy and they both nodded in agreement, the mood lifting. Charlie jumped up in excitement, and I'm not lying when I say that his eyes were sparkling.
