I Felt Safe in His Arms

My heart dropped when I heard he had been there the whole time. I didn't know what to say, there was no way I could make up an excuse for this. Luckily, I heard Ed yell for Drew before anything else was said between us. I watched Drew hesitate before going to Ed, but he did go.

I was now alone and let out a sigh of relief, I looked outside the windows to see it was dark out. I was about to make my way over to the front room where the girls were watching TV, but then I heard the back door open.

I turned around towards the door, but no one was there. I started to walk over to close it.  maybe it was just the wind that blew it open I thought to myself, but once I got there I heard a whisper which sounded like a man come from outside "Madeline" it said. I looked around  for who said it, but no one was there.

I walked outside and listened for the voice, hoping to hear it, so I could find out who it was. I heard it again but this time it said come here my heart was racing and I wanted to go back inside, and tell someone but, I couldn't, I felt pulled towards the voice. I kept hearing it say, "come here" until I stood under the tree the witch hung herself on. The voice was silent now which for some reason made me feel so uneasy at least when I heard the voice I knew where it was, now I didn't.

I stood under the tree for a few minutes and listened but no one spoke so I turned around. Before I could walk back to the house I felt an arm grab around my waist and a hand go over my mouth. I tried to scream but it was so muffled by the hand that no one would be able to hear me. I also tried to fight but whoever had grabbed me was much stronger and taller than me so it was no use. Tears blurred my vision but something else also made it hard to see, it was the flashing coming from the temperature activated camera I felt the hand come off my mouth so I started screaming and calling for help.

I heard Drew yelling my name and then felt the presence that was holding me leave. I watched as Drew ran over to me and when he got in front of me I threw my arms around him, I felt so safe once I was in his arms. He just held me there for what felt like forever, but it was only really a few minutes. I then saw Ed and Lorraine come outside followed by Brad, Roger and Carolyn.

I slowly let go of Drew and was overwhelmed with the questions everyone's was asking. Lorraine hugged me then told everyone to be quiet.

I pointed towards the camera and said with a shaky voice "the camera took a lot of pictures it probably caught whatever it was"

Ed looked up at the branch then to the camera "it probably was the witch this is where she hung herself" he said.

I shook my head because I knew it wasn't the witch it was the entity at the barn the same one that grabbed my arm and left a mark that disappeared overnight. My eyes went wide maybe it had left a mark again. I pulled up my blouse just enough to see my waist and there it was a huge bruise. Lorraine gasped in shock and everyone else looked scared or worried. Ed then asked who did this if it wasn't the witch.

I had to lie we were here for this family not me so I just said "I don't really know maybe it was the witch Im just a little freaked out right now I need to go inside."

Once I was in I walked straight to the bathroom I locked myself in and looked at the bruise on my waist maybe working for the warrens wasn't a good idea it took one day for a demon to attach to me and hurt me twice. I heard Drew yell my name and my thoughts of this being a bad idea slipped away. Maybe it would be all worth it in the end. Maybe it would be worth it because of him.

Sorry this was a short chapter and was kinda crazy I'm lost on what to write. I love all of y'all and I'm hoping to make the next chapter really good!!!! ❤️
