How It All Began...

In 1962, British Railways closed the branch line that ran from the Great western railway main line, at wood snow. All the way down to the bottom of the Lickey incline at Bromsgrove! Towns people were outraged by this and 3 months later in September 1962, a new society had formed to save the line and return it to former glory.

In 1963 the line was saved.... well a couple miles of it. The first locomotives to arrive on the line was "Terrier" class 32635 Brighton Works and 6422 "Swan on the 16th of August 1963. They ran the line non stop for a year before, in 1964, 6825 "Llanvair grange" joined the fleet. At the very end of 64, 1456 (Later named Samuel) Joined the LVR. This is where our story begins......
