His little experiment (Senku x Y/N)

It's been 6 months since you've awaken from your petrified state and found Senku in Ishigami village. You and Senku were once in the same science class 3700 years ago, time sure flies doesn't it? You and Senku were both top of the class, both completely immersed in your work, never giving the time to "play" with the other students. However, you still somehow made time for each other.
Senku was always some what distant from the rest of the class, though he seemed to "tolerate" your voice better then anyone else's. Your conversations mainly included your observations on the recent stone bird sightings. Occasionally you'd both have a non-science related conversation, sometimes including the typical "play" flirting. Senku seemed to enjoy it quite a bit, you weren't to sure if you took it serious or not but you enjoyed it quite a bit too.
Now in a stone world with you and Senku being the smartest humans still alive on Earth, you became lab partners in the course to bring back humanity to its former glory.

"Hey, Y/N, mind handing me that conical flask?" Senku stated, he and you were studying the fauna in the area, seeing if anything has changed over the last 3700 years.
"Sure thing, Sen- GAHHH"
You reached for the flask and ended up tripping on your own feet once again. The glass shattered on the ground in front of you.
"Typical, Y/N. The chances of you falling was one out of a billion and you still managed. Your the only one that's as clumsy as you and I can tolerate. We'll have to ask that old fart, Kaseki, to make a new one cause that was the last one we had."
"S-sorry Senku, it's my fault that we'll have to pause our work."
"Nah, don't apologize, we'll take this as a little break then we're right back to work, right lab partner?" Senku said with a smirk on his face, he always tend to use 'lab partner' as a pet name for you.
"Yeah alright, I'll go get Kaseki to make a new one, I'll be back then we can take a break somewhere."

After you left, Senku turned right back towards his work and said it himself, "Their's that damn feeling again! What is this, I can't think, eat, or sleep. I only feel this way when I'm around Y/N, what is this feeling?!"
"Ahhhh, looks like the doc has something else then science on the brain after all."
Gen was standing behind Senku the whole time.
"What do you want mentalist?" Senku replied with a irritated tone, trying to hide his flustered face.
"Aww, now is that anyway to treat your friend? I can help you with that feeling of yours, I myself was familiar with it when I was a young boy over 3700 years ago."
"Yeah? What the hell is it then?"
"It's love darling, you obviously have a crush on Y/N. You and them were always close even before the great petrifaction and now your even closer. Why don't you ask them out on a date, hmm?"
"Crush? Love? Give me a break, I'm a scientist, I don't have time for this. Relationships are only for mutual gain, what purpose would one have in the Stone Age?"
"Oh my sweet naive Senku, your always so hard on yourself. You know, this feeling of your's won't go away until you make a move. And I'm one billion percent sure Y/N is in to you too~"
Gen slithered out of lab like the snake he is leaving Senku in utter frustration. Gen wasn't a bad person, and he knew that, he just didn't want what he said to be true.
"Tch, screw off Gen, I'll explain this feeling with science, no matter how many experiments may take place."

"Hey Lab Rat! I'm back, Kaseki said it'll take a bit for the flask to finish so we're gonna be taking a "break" until tomorrow it seems."
"Heh, it's been a while since I've heard that pet name, like a 3700 years maybe." Y/N used to call Senku 'Lab Rat' in highschool, the nickname didn't seem to bother him so it kinda stuck. Senku always called it a pet name instead of a nickname too. Not sure why though, pet names are usually used by partners. Senku also called Y/N 'his little experiment from time to time. The names stuck with them, both used it as a comfort phrases when one of them was stressed or just needed the attention.
After some putting away the lab equipment for the night, you and Senku decide to go on a walk in the forest for a while to get your minds off the subject. Senku thought to himself,
"is Gen right? Will this feeling not go away unless I say something? That dirty mentalist even stole my line, thought he seemed pretty confident that Y/N is into me to-"
*SMACK*
Senku walked face first into a tree, leaving a nasty mark on his head.
"Senku!! Are you alrigh-"
Once again, you tripped over your own feet and landed on Senku. You both were in pain, Senku taking most of the blow however. He was never the strongest student, any extreme physical sport or activity left him in bruises and cuts most of the time. You were always their to tend to him of course. Bo one else besides Tajiu, who was in a different place at the time, seemed to care what happened to Senku. You yourself were somewhat more athletic then what you told yourself to be. Your favorite sport was Basketball and soccer, Senku would show up to your games and watched the game. Well, he said he watched the game, you had a feeling he was more interested in watching you then the game itself.
