Mom was getting dinner ready making my favorite. Homemade pizza. Moms pizza was legendary, I help with a few things like the cheese and tomatoes, you know the things I can't screw up. I was in my own world slicing tomatoes when mom asked "Should we invite our new neighbors for dinner?" I promptly stopped slicing "Sorry? I didn't catch that" my mom looked up from making dough "You heard me!" she had an evil glint in her eyes "Well pizza isn't really a dinner party meal. Now is it" she rolled her eyes "Since when do you care whether it is or isn't. They would go out for fast food anyway considering they won't have power for the night. So I just thought it would be better if we invited them, it will give you and that Belikov boy a chance to get to know one another" she said everything like it was settled and already planned "I am not gonna win this, am I?" I gave an exaggerated sigh "Ding ding! We have a winner! Now go upstairs and get dressed appropriately I will finish up here. And then go invite them. Oh Rose! Be nice and polite." with that I made my way up the stairs slowly "Time is a ticking Rose!" mom yelled from the kitchen I just rolled my eyes "Don't roll you eyes at me missy" damn she was good.
When I was dressed in my black skinny jeans with a over sized T shirt and high tops I made my way to our new 'neighbors', on my way I was chanting no begging someone upstairs to let them say thank you but no thank you. I got to the all too familiar red oak door and rang the doorbell, there was shuffling and then the mid forties lady answered the door with a friendly smile on her face "Hello dear may I help you?" she asked with her accent thick in her voice "Hey, I am Rose I live across the street just wanted to welcome you too the neighborhood" I returned the smile "Well isn't that sweet of you. Oh where is my matters I am Olena. Do you want to come in?" I wanted to say no but some how I couldn't she opened the door further and gesturing me in "Excuse the mess dear still settling in, everyone is fooling around." she moved somethings to make room for me to sit "Oh don't really mind, know how it feels moving into a big house" she nodded and turned around yelling "У нас есть компании" (We have company) I didn't really understand but it was probably something to do with me being here and everyone had to come and introduce them selfs.
Just then I heard footsteps come running down the stairs everyone walked in probably curious to who was already at their house when I locked eyes with warm brown eyes I smirked at the surprised expression then smug replaced it "And you said I was the stalker. We should really stop meeting like this Rose" well the cocky attitude ruined my good mood "Speak fir yourself seeing that you were the one moving in a house right across from mine" I said with all the sarcasm I could muster up "Have you two met?" Olena asked surprised "Yeah they go to the same school, and they had a bump in by the Cafe" Viktoria piped in and Olena smiled at me "Well seems like you have met two members already let me introduce the rest" turns out the two children Pual the boy and Zoya the girl where Karolina was the mother the one that wasn't pregnant Sonja was the lucky gal expecting she was glowing when she told me she was only 6 months pregnant only 3 months to go. Then there was the old lady Yeva who just looked at me it was creeping me out! "Well its nice to meet everyone, can really see that you all are related! Now the reason I actually came here... my mom wants you all to join us for dinner, now I know creepy only met today and already inviting you over? Well we actually know how much it sucks to move into a new big house with now power what so ever, so see this more of an neighbor helping neighbor out kinda thing. My mom would really love the company seeing that it will only be me and her" I explained Olena looked to Dimitri who was looking at me he nodded "We would love to join you, is there anything we can bring?" Olena asked with her smile again "Only your selfs and a big appetite" I said with a laugh. Olena said that they would be over in five minutes so I said my goodbyes and see you soon's and left to go back and tell my mom they were coming. Tonight would be an event that could go either way.
