~Day 1~

The first day of school can be exciting, for some that is. When I was younger I'd be exited to get up early for school, but once I entered my first year of high-school, it kind of changed. I better get out of bed before I'm late. "Oh good you're up Calina. Would you mind getting Sayori for breakfast?" My mother asks "OK Mom" I reply. Sayori is my younger sister who goes to school with me. She's a lovable ball of sunshine.

I dash up the stairs to Sayori's room. "Sayori, it's time for breakfast!" I hear something fall over. She's still clumsy as ever, not too different from me. "Coming!" she yells from her room. Suddenly she throws her door open and runs into me, sending us both falling down the stairs. "Are you two ok?" Our Mom runs to us concerned. "I'm fine." I reply "Sayori just tried playing human bowling with me again." I added jokingly after helping Sayori up.

After breakfast our childhood friend Jayden joins us. While we walk to school I wonder about how the day will go. Will things be any better this year than the last one, or the one before that? "Callie!" I notice that Sayori has been trying to get my attention and is now pouting. "Sorry Sayori, what is it?" "Jayden is insisting he never said he'd look at the clubs." I sigh. I don't really understand fully why she's so insistent on Jayden joining a club, though he did make a promise. "Jayden she is right." I reply confirming what Sayori said. "Fine, I'll take a look at them later." The other two continue talking while I follow quietly.

We soon arrive to school. "See you at the club Calina!" Sayori calls out before her and Jayden head to their classes. Since we were on time I don't have to hurry in. Might as well go in now though. On the way to my class I hear some commotion. "What is a freak like you even doing here Ayano?" Not again. Musume and her "friends" have always been the ones making life miserable at school. The staff rarely do anything, I'd know from my own experience. I guess the positive side of my history with people like Musume is that I can help other victims. I take a deep breath and walk towards them, hopefully looking more confident than I feel.

"Aww here's your girlfriend coming to save you!" Musume calls out taunting us, making everyone in the hall laugh.

"At least we don't have to hire friends or blackmail them." I reply, much to Musume's annoyance. "You really want to get on my bad side Calina?" "No. I'm just too mature to waste my time giving you what you want." Now everyone is quiet. Me and Ayano take the chance to leave the taunting. "Did she hurt you Ayano?" "No." She answers. She tries to act like she's fine, but something always seems to be bothering her.

Our friendship started last year when during a similar scenario, I witnessed Musume harassing her. It was clear that she had no friends, so I made it a point to always look out for her. She's really a sweet girl and I hate seeing her, or really anyone suffer. "Why do you always stick up for me? You only make the other students not like you." Ayano asks me "I don't care what Musume or the others think of me. They're all fake, which is why I never liked popularity." I answer. We make it to our class. Our first class is the only one besides P.E. that we have together.

~Time Skip~

It's now the last class that I have before lunch break. By now my willpower and mental energy have significantly decreased from the task of understanding the class. Before long I'm caught doodling. "Calina how are your notes going?" Mida Rana, our teacher is always quick to correct us for not paying full attention. She's even corrected us while taking notes if we weren't looking at her. "Um, fine Rana Sensei." I reply hoping to stay out of trouble. "I'd hope so after your grades from the last test. I may have to give you private lessons after school." I'd rather die than spend more time with her, alone. She's gotten a reputation for using private lessons to hit on students. I manage to stay out of trouble for the remainder of the class.
