Victor x Reader

"Victor."

Sitting on a red leather sofa, on the deck of his yacht under the starry sky, you call out his name as he swirls a glass of red wine in his right hand. He turns to look at you, but your eyes never looked back at him. Only stare the stars glimmering and then disappear as small clouds block them before they reappear again. Victor waits for you to continue.

"If you were to meet the real me... Would you hate me and leave?"

Victor was shocked to hear such a direct question from you. Ever since you told him that you don't really look like the girl in his memory and that you are living in her body to help her accomplish her life goals and finish her story, he has been acting different than usual. He became more distant. He sat next to you with a small gap in between, seeming to show some distance. He told you that no matter what you look like, he would still care about you and yet, it would seem like he's distancing himself from you even after what he said.

During work hours, he pays a lot more attention to the small mistakes in your report than he usually does and would be even more strict when it's about you getting sick or not being able to take good care of yourself. During social events, he still invites you to them but he didn't go straight to see you once he arrives to the venue like his usual self. He interacts with you only when you met by chance during those events. It felt like a gap had been carved between the two of you, and that gap created a transparent wall that is separating the two of you more and more. He doesn't usually call either. Not like how he used to do it.

It was only until 2 days ago did he called you if you were free this weekend to which he asked for a cruise out on his yacht for 2 nights with just you and him. You were very excited upon getting the invitation but then, remembering how he acted during the last few weeks, you couldn't help but think, would he say that he want to break up with me on this trip? You couldn't help but feel the same as those stars, slowly fading away as the clouds appear and block it. Except once the clouds disappear again, the star would disappear too. You couldn't help but wonder, will the man you care and loved so much in this world disappear once the cloud of mystery to the ending of this story disappears?

Without you realizing it a small tear drop had formed around the rims of your eyes. But just when it was about to fall, a tender hand slowly and gently wiped away the tear. He took your chin and gently kissed you on the lips. You froze for a moment before taking in the kiss wholeheartedly. He's so...gentle. You thought. The kiss was long and without you realizing, he moved his arms behind you and pulled in closer, deepening the kiss. The feel of warmth from his arms wrapped around you took you back to the day he gave you the crystal earrings by the pool on the night of the light show. He then let go of the kiss and placed his forehead on yours. You both took in a few breaths after that long kiss.

He finally answered your question from before. "No matter which world, or who you might really be under this body, you will always be my dummy. And I, will always love you." He emphasized on the word 'always', showing how much he meant it the last time he told you when you first came to him to tell the truth. He then pulls you up to his chest, so close you can feel his strong heartbeat almost resonating the same beat as your own. He then continued. "You must be asking this because of all those times I avoided you, right?" He asked with a gentle and soft voice. Hearing him say that, you burst into tears and cried on his shoulder as you slowly tell him 'yes' through your whimper of cries.

He placed his hand on your head, slowly patting it. His face was full of guilt and worry for making you cry this hard because of his own actions. "I'm sorry." He apologized but he knew full well, that didn't stop you from crying even more. He then continued, saying every word ever so wholeheartedly. "It was my fault. I took too much focus on my own feelings after what you told me the other day." He lets go from the hug and you look at him with wet eyes, still sobbing.

"The more I got close to you, the more it reminded me that we will soon part ways and might not see each other again even if I use my Evol. So, I thought avoiding you was the best way. But at the same time, I want to teach you how to be independent for what lies ahead in the hopes that when we do part ways, you will always remember everything that I taught you." You started crying again. But before you could he continued again. "But now I know that the best thing I can do before that time come is... to always make time for you. And only for you." You look deeper into his eyes. "Today I did all this was so that I can make up for the times I've been avoiding you. And so that we can make new memories. For every moment that we can be together."

"You promise?" You pull out a pinky from your shaking hand and with a smile, he loops his pinky finger with yours.

"I promise."

*****

You open your eyes from your dream and sat on your bed as you feel the traces of wetness by your cheeks. "So it was all a dream..." You looked at your feet about to cry again until you hear a faint knock. But the knocking wasn't coming from your bedroom door or window. No. The knock was so faint. Almost as if it was just a tap on a cardboard. You hear the knocking again. Your phone suddenly lit up after the knocking. You were surprised and started having negative thoughts until you see something moving in the screen of your phone. Scared but curious, you picked up the phone and was shocked to tears to what you saw.

He was smiling and waving at you from behind the screen and placed his hand on it. And word texts appear under him that warms your heart.

"I'll always be here. For you."
