Chapter Twenty

*Still Christmas Eve
Rian's POV
I had spent most of the day alone because Grace and Jack decided to do some last minute Christmas shopping but hopefully they will get home soon. Unlike them my Christmas shopping has been done since the beginning of the month and I literally can't wait for Grace to see what I got her, she's been asking for this for as long as I can remember.

I'm surprised I actually was able to pull of this gift she is gonna be completely surprised and probably the happiest I've seen her in a while. Life hasn't been good for her but I just hope this gift makes it a little better. Grace deserves a really good day and Christmas is gonna be that day for her.

I heard the door open and I turned around to see Jack and Grace walk in, but when I saw the huge black eye Jack was sporting I was completely shocked.

"Shit" I exclaimed
"What's wrong" Grace asked like it was nothing
"Maybe the black eye" Jack said laughing
"Yeah that" I said still shocked
"I forgot about that" Grace said laughing
"Grace it literally happened like 30 minutes ago" Jack said
"True" Grace said
"You're a goof" Jack said punching her in the arm
"Don't start another fight" Grace said punching him back
"He started it" Jack said picking Grace up putting her over his shoulder
"Hey put me down" Grace said hitting his back
"Not till you stop punching me" Jack said
"Put her down and tell me what the fuck happened to your face" I said
"Whatever dad" Jack said putting her down
"Yeah whatever dad" Grace said mocking me as well
"It's like having two kids" I said laughing
"I'm a big adult" Grace said
"Sure you are" Jack said laughing
"You're one to talk" Grace said
"Can someone just tell me what happened to Jacks face" I said yelling over there stupid argument

They went on to tell me that they ran into Matt at Newbury Comics and Matt tried to talk to Grace but obviously Jack was having none of that. Matt punched Jack and Jack immediately knew he needed to fight this kid. It also made us all feel a little better to see Matt in pain but come to find out if security didn't get there Jack probably would have lost the fight.

Grace's POV
"I was pretty much zoned out the entire time so I don't really remember" I admitted
"I'm happy you don't remember much it wasn't pretty" Jack said
"Just happy you guys are both alright" Dad said bringing us both into a hug
"Owww" Jack said as dad hugged him
"Do you need to go to the doctor" I asked as we were released from the hug
"I'm alright I promise" Jack said kissing my forehead
"I know you aren't" I said
"I'm just tired" Jack said but I could tell he was hurting
"Dude I could 100 percent take you to the er if you need me to" dad added
"Nope I'm alright I think it's just bruised" Jack said
"Ok am I gonna have to force you to go the er" I said
"Gracie I'm tired can we please just go to bed" Jack said with a pouty face
"Nope we are going to the er" I said
"Why" Jack said whining
"Let's go come on" I said grabbing his hand dragging him out the door
"I will drive" dad said following behind

We all made our way towards the er at around 7pm on Christmas Eve, with a very irritated Jack. He's not happy but I will happier once a doctor looks at his injuries.

"Why didn't you just take him to the er before you came home" Dad asked
"He refused to let me drive home so I couldn't sneak to the er" I said
"I didn't want to go then and I still don't want to" Jack said still irritated
"Jack it's better to just go" I said grabbing his hand
"This is so irritating" Jack said
"Dude stop being a baby about it" Dad said
"Don't start Rian" Jack said
"What are you laughing about" Jack said looking at me
"I don't know" I said still laughing
"You are lucky I like you" Jack said putting his arm around me
"Enough to go to the er" I questioned
"Whatever" Jack said
"That's not a no" I said

Once we made it the er Jack and I made our way in and left my dad to park the car. The er on Christmas Eve was a really interesting place and I'm happy I was surrounded by my dad and Jack because the people here were definitely interesting.

They ended up doing X-rays on Jack and found that nothing was broken but they said he definitely has a concussion. I was just happy he didn't break anything but his ribs were bruised and he has a concussion.

"See we came here for nothing" Jack said as we walked out of the hospital, it was around 11pm now
"No it always good to make sure you are alright" i said holding his hand as we walked to the car
"She's right" dad added
"I don't need either of you to parent me" Jack said
"I don't know about that" I said laughing
"You really like to piss me off don't you" Jack said laughing now too
"She's really good for that" dad said
"That's rude" I said
"True though" Jack and dad said almost at the same time
"I'm returning all your guys Christmas gifts that it" I said obviously joking
"Oh no! Don't do it" Jack said mocking me
"You wouldn't dare" dad said
"I would" I said
"Ok we need to go home it's almost Christmas" dad said

We made it back to the car and made our way back to the house and by the time we were finally home it was 12pm meaning it's Christmas!!

"Goodnight and Merry Christmas kiddo" dad said leaving my room
"Merry Christmas to you too! Love you dad" I said as he left the room
"Love you too" Dad yelled from outside the door

Jack walked out of my bathroom and now it was my turn to get ready for bed and at this point it was already 1am so I was gonna be very tired tomorrow.
"You ready yet we should really try to sleep" Jack said leaning against the door frame of the bathroom
"Trying to brush my teeth currently" I said with toothpaste in my mouth
"Very attractive" Jack said laughing
I just shook my head and finished brushing my teeth
"You just gonna stare at me while I finish getting ready for bed" I asked
"I might" Jack answered flatly
"Weirdo" I said
"You done yet" Jack asked
"Jack" I said looking at him
"What I just asked if you were done yet" Jack said looking innocently
"You are driving me insane and the longer you ask questions the longer it's gonna take me" I said rolling my eyes
"You're very cute when you get irritated" Jack admitted
"You aren't cute when you are irritating me" I said laughing

After like 10 minutes of Jack impatiently waiting for me I was actually done getting ready

"Are you finally ready" Jack asked
"Are you on a time crunch or something why do you care if I'm ready or not" I said walking past him into my room
"Just want to cuddle you" Jack said
"That's adorable" I admitted laying down on my bed
"I'm pretty cute like that" Jack said moving us so that my head was laying on his chest
"Yeah I guess I can keep you around" I said laughing
"You can't get rid of me" Jack said
"That's true I've been trying to for a while now" I said
"Fuck you" Jack said
"I'm good" I said
"You are a child" Jack said
"Says you" I said back
"We need to sleep Gracie" Jack said interrupting me
"Probably a good idea" I said yawning
"Merry Christmas and Goodnight" Jack said kissing me softly
"Same to you" I said kissing back

I fell asleep in Jacks arms, with so much excitement about Christmas tomorrow which is and will forever be my favorite holiday. Also one of my gifts is gonna be a complete shock and no one is gonna believe my dad allowed it
