Toshiro's POV.
Tapping my fingers continuously on the table, I watch the teacher babble on about Math. The subject I'm horrible at. Everything else I'm good at, but my inner dumb seems to show in this complicated class. Everything in my view is just numbers and symbols that I can't quite catch their purposes. There are so many, how am I supposed to keep track on which means which?!

Why was I moved up to Pre-Algebra, anyway? Did I actually succeed last year? I think not. I always got Cs on my Report Cards. Every single semester. You know, sometimes I think about sucking on purpose. So, I can be degraded into a class below my current level and actually get an A. Actually be able to get something about math at a slower pace.

Right now, there is literally a test every Friday and homework almost every night. I don't get any free time because I'm too busy not getting MATH. Yep. No time to talk to friends, improve my art skills, read, basically anything fun I'm not able to do.

Why haven't I recieved a tutor yet?! The only thing keeping my math grades up is my homework. Thank god she doesn't look at that. Homework isn't important though, the tests are. I have only ever seen a D or a F on my paper once I get it back. Luckily, she let's us correct our tests, giving the grade a boost up to a C or a B, it depends on what it was before and how much I got right when I did it over.

I look at the clock, stopping the complaints about my struggles in my mind. It's almost time to go, thank god. I don't need to be in a room filled with stuff I don't understand anymore.

I grab my things that I had ready and bolt out the door and speed around the corner. I stop in my actions as I bump into a taller, only by a little, male. Looking up, I see that it's just Kenji. I smile softly, saying sorry to my best friend. He laughs like he always does when I get emmbarassed with him around. He does know the reason though; that I hate doing what is considered a mistake in front of my friends.
"No problem, man! I'll see you outside of school, alright?" He exclaims, patting my brown hair. I feel it move it's position, causing me to feel uncomfortable. I have kept it neat and right all day. Kenji ruined it, making a few strands out of place. "Alright, bye." I mutter, annoyance stringed in my voice.

He starts walking off, yelling something at me while doing so, "Your hair looks fine! Don't worry about it!"

Yeah right.

Well, at least it's the end of the day. No one will see my hair in such a mess for a long time. I just need to hurry up and get out of here. Hoping people wouldn't stare at me, I rush to my locker, stuff my books in my bag, then head off to meet Kenji. I wonder what he has planned for us today. Hopefully it isn't anything social because no one else needs to see my hair. Yeah yeah, I'm overreacting. Yeah yeah, it's just a little moved, you can barely notice it. Blah blah blah. I like my hair in a certain way. I like it to be...perfect.

Is that all that bad? Like seriously, I'm teased for it, people constantly ruffle my hair. It's not their business to worry about and to mess with. It's my so called 'obsession' , I'm allowed to continue it without them continuously lying that a piece is missplaced. I mean, if there was a piece of hair astray from it's original position, I would be able to tell without those people informing me.

I shake it off, walking faster to reach my destination. As soon as I reach Kenji, he takes me by the wrist, leading me to his car. My expression becomes puzzled and irritated. "Kenji! Where are we going?!" I ask as he opens the car door to the passenger side. "Get in, we're going to my friend's house. You'll like him. The guy has a nice personality. He's an elf."

I stay silent. An elf, how did Kenji manage to get an elf as a friend? No matter, hopefully he has a comb in his car. That's the only way I will go.

"....Do you have a comb I can perhaps b-" He interrupts me with a loud "yes" and waves me in the car, urging me to get in. I follow his command this time, stepping in and plunging down onto the seat. He went to the other side and did the same action, but added starting the car and driving off. I open the glovebox in search of the comb he said he had, rummaging through the items he had in there. After finally finding it, I pull down the mirror and comb it down to it's original position. I get it back soon enough, causing relief to flow through my body. I insert the comb back where it belongs and look out the window, seeing where we currently are.

So, we're going to an elf's house. I wonder what that's going to be like. Knowing that they are the most respected being, it's probably going to be luxurious. And they're kind people, are they going to like the attitude I put on most of the time? I don't think so. You see, you can't like a person that always seems annoyed with the world when you are that kind.

Whatever, let's just see what goes down. As soon as Kenji pulls up in a driveway, he shooes me out as he unbuckles. I open the car door and step out, looking up at the house. Hm, it's not as luxurious as I thought it would be, but it was quite nice. I know my family wouldn't be able to afford such a house.

It was made of brown brick, giving it a warm type of feeling. Two floors, two windows located on the top. No windows were visable for the bottom front, but perhaps they were on the side. There was a porch, too, with a swing. Practical. I turned around and looked at Kenji who walked right past me. "Come on, don't be shy."

Sighing, I follow him. "I'm not shy," I mutter, which was completely untrue. The only time I would ever talk to someone is if I absolutely had to or was forced. Being social isn't my sort of thing. Kenji knocks on the door before I'm even up the steps. I start to tell him to wait a moment, but what's the use? He has already knocked. I rush up and stand by him, making sure my breathing gets back to level.

The door opens and someone peers through the little gap. They smile and open it wider, greeting Kenji. My friend cheerily says hello to the older elf, which I assume is the mother of the home. He then introduces me. "This is my friend, Toshiro. He's the person I was telling Erai about." The mother nods and steps back.

"Well, come in. He's just upstairs."

We both enter, me letting out a deep breath. I wonder what's going to happen tonight.
