(This is just a random image I took off of google, it's not mine.

But it IS a nice door, isn't it?)

Truth be told, it didn't quiet sink in.

But when it did, Violet stood still, shocked.

"What is it?" her mum peered over her daughters shoulder.

After a few moments, Violet burst out laughing.

"Jason, very funny. You think I STILL fall for your stupid prank letters?" She giggled, rolling her eyes. "Although, I have to admit, you got me."

"Hmm?" Jason looked up from his toast. "Wha?"

"I thought you were fourteen, not eight."

"Hey! But what on earth are you talking about?"

"You wrote another prank letter. Saying I got accepted into some random academy for magic and stuff."

Jason blinked. "I didn't write that. Check to see who it's from."

"It's from ..." she flipped the letter over. "Magnolia Winters, Principal of Silver Winds academy."

"Sounds fancy."

Violet growled. "J, you write this letter or not?!"

"No!" He shook his head vigorously.

"If I find out you're lying, I swear, I'll-" a loud knock on the door cut her off, making them all give each other questioning looks.

"I'll get it." Violet sighed, putting the letter down on the counter, and walking over to the door. "What?" She asked, not bothering to be polite.

A tall, woman who looked about to be in her late 20s,with long, straight, golden coloured hair stood at the door. Her eyes were a light green, almost yellow, and she was dressed in a grey hoodie that was frayed at the hem, and ripped black jeans.

"Morning." She strolled into the house, ignoring Violet.

"Uh -" Violet started, slightly startled by the strangers boldness. "I - wha - excuse me?"

"Morning! Mrs. Baker, Jason." The woman grinned.

"Violet? Is this a friend of yours?" Her mother asked.

"Not yet." The stranger said before Violet could answer. "But soon. I'm Beda. Beda Acasti Dolo."

"What are you doing in our house?" Violet demanded, shocked, and thought she would never admit it, slightly impressed, by Beda's demeanor.

"Ah." Beda leaned against the counter, and pulling a thermos out from her leather bag. "I'm here to pick up Violet. For school."

"One, it's still summer, even though it's late august." Violet argued. "Two, I don't know you."

"I assume you've gotten your letter?" Beda inquired.

Violet slowly nodded.

"Good. Like I said, I'm Beda Acasti Dolo, Silver Winds Acadamy's ... well, bus driver, in a way."

"That means ..."

"I pick up new students and drop them off at Silver Winds, and I take students home for the summer."

Violet rolled her eyes. "Just leave." she growled. "I have a farm to take care of."

Beda stood patiently."Violet, I have a job to do. You belong at Silver Winds."

"Wait, wait, wait." Jason interupted. "Can some explain what on earth is happening here?"

Beda glanced at Jason sympathetically. "You'll ... understand later." she turned and guided Violet by the shoulders outside.
