Walking down the dirt path to the stable, Violet questioned anything and everything.

"Do we ever get to ride the horses?" She demanded.

Lucy laughed. "Not just horses. Pegasi, Dragons, Unicorns, Draquis -"

"What are those?" Violet interrupted.

Lucy grinned slyly. "You'll see."

Violet continued pestering Lucy the entire way to the stables, and Violet slightly impressed with how gentle and sweet she was, and how she never commented on the amount of questions, and always answered as quickly as she could.

Soon a huge, stone barn loomed ahead of them, that had to be at least seven stories high.

"Woah..." Violet breathed as Lucy walked up to the twelve-feet-high metal doors, and hovered her hand in front of a silver-purple square that looked to be about 4 x 4 inches.

She waits a second, and it flashes green with a soft ping, and Lucy pushes the door open.

"Was that, like, a hand recognition or something?" Violet queried, stepping into the barn, her eyes only focused on Lucy.

"Sort of." Lucy made a face, and held up her hand, revealing a light pink, heart-shaped gem in the center of her palm.

"Is it kind of like a student ID? Is it embedded in your palm? Why is it pink and heart shaped?"

"Yes, it's pretty much a student ID. Yes, it is embedded in my palm, in fact, it's actually a part of me, and it's pink and heart shaped because it's my family line. In all Lupiforms, every Lupiform has a ... gem, of some sorts. It helps people recognize other Lupiforms in their prey form, and it shows who your parents are as well."

"Cool."

"Yeah. Now want me to introduce you to all of the rides?" Lucy smiled.

"YEAH!" Violet grinned.

They turned and walked over to the first stall, which held a glorious, elegant crimson dragon.

But when Violet looked closer, she notices that it wasn't only red, it's eye scales were rimmed with deep purple, and it had faint streaks of blue in it, and it's tail faded into a metallic magenta.

"This, is January." Lucy strokes the dragon's nose, and it leaned in and let out a soft noise, similar to a cat's purr. "She's about 6. We found her when she was still very young, with her tail caught between some rocks. We rescues her, trained her, and she's been here ever since."

"How old do dragons live?"

"'Bout a hundred."

Violet widened her eyes. "Wow. Why's she named January?"

"We think she was named January, because Garnets, which are a red jewel, are the birth stone of January." Lucy explained, giving January a scratch behind the ear. "Her official papered name is Silver Winds January Crown Jewel"

"You think? You didn't name her?"

"No, we had to get Professor Long to speak with January."

"Who? What?"

Lucy laughed at Violet's confusion. "Professor Long speaks dragon. It's hard to learn, and difficult to understand, and, to my knowledge, she's the only human at this school to do it. But we got her to talk with January and get her name. She wouldn't tell us anymore than her name, age, which was a few weeks old, and the fact that her mother and father had abandoned her."
