Beep, beep,beep...

That's the sound I heard when I started waking up. It was annoying and I wanted it to go away, but I knew that I was probably in a hospital.

I tried to open my eyes but it was hard, like they were made of metal and I was bending it open. But I managed to do it eventually.

I looked around the room, the hearth monitor was making that annoying noise. I was wearing a hospital gown and the room was fairly big and I saw Kenshin sitting on his phone.

I coughed to get his attention. And his head moved so fast I thought he might get whiplash.

I heard a cough and turned my head around and saw Yasu looking at me. I jumped off my seat and ran over and hugged her. She was surprised but hugged me back.

"I'm sorry I didn't realize and get there sooner." I said. I was feeling guilty and knowing Yasu she would say something like-

"No, it's not your fault. I should have told you or something. We trust each other with everything and I didn't trust you with this, I feel like I betrayed your trust." Yasu hugged me tighter.

I wasn't expecting that last bit and it wasn't true. "No you didn't betray my trust, it's hard to talk about something like that. But I have good news."

She pulled back and looked at me confused. "Well for one your parents are going to jail for a long time so you won't have to worry about them for the years to come."

She looked ready to cry and I knew she would, this would definitely be a big moment for her, her tormentors were getting punished and she would be free.

Like I thought she did cry, she was shaking and brought me into a hug that could crush anyone's bones but luckily for me I was stronger than her, although she would disagree and said she was not putting in her full strength so she didn't hurt my feelings.

My parents walked in but I brought a finger up to my lip silencing them. I shooed them away and they went outside the room.

Yasu eventually stopped crying and pulled out of the hug to get rid of the tears on her face. "Thank you, for saving me."

"Of course I would, that's what partners do." I smiled and Yasu smiled back. "But I have other news, you're staying with me. Since you don't have anyone else."

Yasu looked confused. "How did you get them to allow you to take me with you?"

I smiled and decided to mess around. "Oh, you know, I just pointed a gun over here and another gun over there, and they agreed before I could even fire a shot."

She looked shocked and was going to hit me but I held her back. "Stop, stop! I was joking! They just thought that since you had no one else, and I would shoot a gun at someone to protect you then it was the obvious choice."

"Oh well that's good." Yasu put a bright smile on her face.

"I'll go get my parents so that they can meet you, ok?"

She nodded.

I got off the bed and walked out the door to see my parents standing by the wall with their ears pressed up against it.

I sighed. "You can come in." They jumped but nodded and walked in.

Yasu looked over at my parents and before she knew what was happening, my mom brought her into a tight hug. Yasu stiffened but relaxed soon.
