The Door

The Black Coat (Part 2)

There was a short silence.

"You can call me Mr.Hanley Tyler" He said.I didn't know how I would answer him.

"That's...cool" I replied nervously.I still couldn't see his face but I wasn't really paying attention to that because he started talking again.

"So Tyler your mom has told me that you are in 9th grade this year,you look like a lady's man,have you had any luck?" He asked slightly chuckling.

"I'm gonna go get some tea ready" My mom continued.Mr.Hanley looked away from me.

"That would be wonderful Ms.Jones" He said.He waited until my mom was out of the room to lift up his hat and stair straight into my eyes.

"Tyler" He said in a completely different voice"I know what you have been doing" He said.

"You do?" I asked nervous.I wanted to ask him why his hat was over his face for so long but I noticed a giant lightning bolt shaped scar on his left cheek and assumed that was the reason why.

"The portal was never meant to appear in this world" He added.I tried to make sense of what he was saying.It was definite that he knew something now.Is that "portal" the door I've been walking through? Is it a way into another world that looks identical this one? He continued to talk.

"My name isn't Detective Hanley, they call me dark-eye" He added. "I'm from a world called Chrysalis.A world of dark magic,murder and pure evil.The door oddly showed up here and chose you to be the hero of Chrysalis." He said.I have never been so confused.

"What are you saying?" I asked.

"Chrysalis needs your help,and we need it now" He replied.At that very moment he got up,pulled his hat back down and walked out of the living room and left the house through the front door.

"Mom?" I yelled out.

"Yes hunny?" she came into the living room. "Where is Mr.Hanley?" she asked.

"I don't know" I replied. "Mom don't let him back in here, I don't want to see him any more" I told her.

"Well i don't think that will be a problem.He asked me to go out to dinner with him" She said.I don't know what is going to happen but I know im not going sit around and let him hurt my mom if that is his plan.I need to find that door again,go through and find "Dark-eye".
