Aubrey's first birthday*

We decided to have the party in my parents back yard. By we I mean Jonathan and I. We have gotten alot closer and he has really been good to me and Aubrey. Aubrey's birthday colors were pale pink and lavender. The whole yard was set up with streamer,balloons, tables with food and a gift table. I could tell that Aubrey knew that all the fuss was about her but I'm not sure if she realized it was her birthday, seeing as she's never been to one before. Our gathering isn't large but instead small only consisting of My mom&dad,Kindell & her fiance' Rob, and Jonathan and I. Aubrey looked so beautiful in her soft white cotton sundress and gold sandals. Aubrey's auburn hair had grown out and now reached her shoulders. I had fished tailed it into two french braids with little wisps framing her adorable face. She was ready. Soon as we walked out of the backdoor of the house entering the back yard, everyone started taking pictures. Aubrey's little face lit up upon seeing everything and it gave me emense joy to know she loved it. My mom approaches me"Oh Kelly everything looks wonderful honey and my little grand baby could be a model." My mom gushed over her while reaching out for Aubrey. Aubrey eagerly went to her. I let the two of them  play together and opted to talk to everyone else. "Kelly I'm so glad I got invited", Kindell said "Maybe some day Rob and I will have a baby and Aubrey can have a play date with him or her." To say Kindell was planning ahead was an understatement. It was cute though. Ever since Jonathan and I started seriously dating I haven't felt as jealous as I once did. I looked over at Jonathan and he was laughing at something Rob said. I decided now was as good a time as any to check him out and boy did he look good. Jonathan was wearing cargo shorts and a tight fitting white v-neck shirt that showed off his toned and muscular body. My dad was by the grill making delicious bbq I could smell it as the juicy meat roasted filling the air with a tasty aroma. After pushing Aubrey on the swing set and playing pin the tail on the donkey we decided it was time to bring out the cake. As I was placing the cake on a table that was placed in the center of the yard, I thought I spotted something out the corner of my eye but when I turned to get a good look I saw nothing but bushes and trees. My dad pulled me out of my thoughts. "Do u need a lighter I got one right in my shirt pocket."he said while smiling his eyes crinkled at the corners." I kept it just in case you forgot to get one lord knows you have been busy setting this up." I looked at my dad and smiled "Thanks dad" I reply. Once the candles are lit we all gather around and sing happy birthday. Some how Jonathan has gotten mom to hand Aubrey to him. She smiles and giggles while we sing to her. I look up from the cake and see the last person I thought I'd ever see. Alex
