Chapter 14

Emma's POV

Beep Beep Beep Beep............

Was all I could hear as I came to. I can't remember where I am or what happened it's dark in here, am I dead. My answers in my head remained unanswered as I began to become aware of a heavy weight on my legs. Slowly sitting up I felt down the sides of me feeling the true cold of my surroundings as the blankets that surrounded me drapped around my waist. My hands explored to my legs where another body lay resting, breathing. Sleeping. Cautiously I shook it. The cry of shock that came from its mouth shocked me and a slight scream came from mine as the person reached over to hug me whilst shouting "Nurse nurse she is awake!!!" A flicker followed by a blinding brightness made me blink. As everything came into focus I could see a head of dark brown hair perched on top of a long toned body of a male talking to the nurse who walked over to me. From behind her I could see a worried but some what relieved face of Jai. "Right sweetheart I'm cathy and I'm your nurse ok, I know you'll have questions but Jai will explain I just need to do some tests ok?????" In the dazed state I was in I just nodded my head my eyes longing to look into Jai's to know that this was real. After some small tests and injections the nurse smiled and left leaving me and Jai by ourselves. For some reason I was nervous. I don't know why? "I thought I had lost you, ya know" Jai said walking over to hold my hand "I didn't know what to do so I hope you'll forgive me I know you hate hospitals and....." I stopped him "I forgive you but why am I here now what exactly happened" I said as I pushed gently on his chest as he moved closer. He paused looking at me with a confused expression on his face "You mean you don't remember" I nodded slowly as he began explaining.

Jai's POV

Looking into her eyes and telling her she had screamed at nothing and watching her cry was nearly as difficult as loosing her all together. I went to hold her as the first tear fell down her face. Followed by many more slowly soaking through my tee shirt on to my bare skin the warmth making me shiver. "cough cough excuse me darling have you told her" the nurse said interupting. "No but I will now" Emma's eyes locked on mine I could see the worry in them "You got sunstroke quiet badly acctually they say you have to stay here for a week but there should be no long term damage to your health" A look of relief rolled across her face "Sunstroke" She laughed "I thought you were going to tell me I was dying" The nurse walked over and started to attach the drip to her arm "We have more or less brought your core tempreture down and this will replace the salt you lost ok" She walked out the room and smiled at us before shutting the door. "Where's Leah!!!" Emma suddenly shouted trying to pull herself out of bed. "She's working ok she said she would visit you during her break she left half and hour before you woke up" Emma allowed herself to be tucked back into her covers on her bed and me to sit next to her cuddling her close enough that she fell asleep listening to my heart beating through my shirt.

Leah's POV

Buzz Buzz

I looked down at my phone with the hhope it was Jai. It was!!

Emma has woken up and is doing fine she cn't wait 2 c u!! X

yay ok I will be over in half an hour ok give her a big hug from me ok!!! xx

Sara walked behind me glancing at my phone as she did. Being the clever person she is she knew it was about Emma "That Jai, how's she doing" I knew she was listening even though she was sifting through files on the desk "Yeah she is good she has woken up now and the nurse says she can come home in a week." I said spinning on my chair to face her "Would you come see her with me later I don't want to go by myself" I forced back tears I was afraid to think of the state my best friend was in "Of course I will" She reached over and hugged me "but we better get some work done if we want to get a break" We both laughed and smiled and went our sepperate ways to see different patients.
