Possible Film Adaptations

Biblaridion said he was writing a story that he might get around to once again, and if he gets around to writing it, there might be potentials for adaptations. If it was animated, then there would be some opportunities in regards to some casting, and even without any whitewashing. Hopefully...

But which studio would be perfect would be hypothesized by people who have read Biblaridion's story. The speculation is not just limited to the studio, but likely the production companies as well, even the director(s), the writer(s), the score composers, etc. I have some good ideas for voice casts, but what I've thought of so far is limited to the Oqolaayo.

The Oqolaayo people, as he said, are a sea-faring culture. The only IRL sea-faring cultures I can think of are of East Asian and Pacific origin, and Oqolaawak seems to share some similarities and familiarities to some of the East Asian languages like Japanese. I asked some people on Biblaridion's Discord server about it, and someone said "Personally it reminds me a lot Maori or Tokelauan. Polynesian languages in general." Someone else said that "I think Oqolawak (at least in sound) feels very North American. But grammatically it's like Polynesian-Nahuatl." Another person said that "It also reminds me of some of the more obscure Afroasiatic languages."

The only names that I feel might be good ideas for voicing several of the Oqolaayo include several East-Asian stars. They are Haley Tju(Stella Zhau[Filipino heritage] from The Loud House, Lexi Kubota[Japanese heritage] from Gitch Techs, and Marcy Wu[Chinese heritage] from Disney's Amphibia), Janice Kawaye(Ami from Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi and Jenny "XJ-9" Wakeman from My Life as a Teenage Robot), Ming-Na Wen(who achieved popularity in the VA community since the 1998 release of Disney's Mulan), Sumalee Montano(who is of Thai heritage), BD Wong(probably best known for playing Henry Wu in the Jurassic Park/World films), Jackie Chan(everyone, to certain extents, knows who he is), Eric Bauza(a Canadian-American whose Asian heritage isn't talked about), Awkwafina(I need to look into her appearances.), Ken Watanabe(one of the most popular Japanese actors to Americans), and Tadanobu Asano(who I first learned about when looking at the cast for Silence directed by Martin Scorsese).

Maybe there could be roles for the Edun speakers like Zoe Saldana and Cree Summer. Whatever VAs do you feel might be perfect for characters of the various ethnicities in the Refugium? Leave a comment down below, or leave it as an annotation to this paragraph.
