I Wish You Weren't Selfish

You carry yourself like the sun,

I can see I'm just Pluto in your eyes,

That's all I am to you,

I'll still be nothing even if I try.

You take and you take,

Never give back,

Expect me to forgive,

Despite the sincerity your apologies lack.

When you speak,

You expect my life to halt.

Then you smile again,

Oh, I guess it's never your fault.

If you have a problem,

Don't worry because I'll be right there,

But the moment I break,

You just sit and stare.

It hurts that I can't stop,

You taste so sweet,

Even though I know it's poison,

I come back like you're a treat.

How I wish you weren't toxic,

How I wish your words weren't hellish,

And, truly, how I wish,

How I wish you weren't selfish.
