In the small town of Portorosso, a 13 year old blonde girl named Penny Marcovaldo has been having the same nightmares of when her sea monster parents were killed and eaten by a great white shark.
In her room, Penny was tossing and turning as she dreamt of the day she lost her parents to that horrible shark.
Penny Marcovaldo (in dream): No! Come back please... Mommy! Daddy! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
*her twin sister Giulia Marcovaldo wakes up and runs to her sister's room to shake her awake*
Giulia Marcovaldo: Penny! Penny! Come on! Sis, time to wake up! It's morning.
Penny Marcovaldo: Huh? *she groans*
Oh, sorry Giulia. I've been having a nightmare about my parents being killed by a great white shark...
Giulia Marcovaldo: *she laughs* Really? That same dream again about some great white shark killing and eating your parents and they are somehow sea monsters?
Penny Marcovaldo: *looking serious* Yes.
Giulia Marcovaldo: Penny! How many times do I have to tell you? Sea monsters aren't real! It's just a dream!
*Giulia hasn't seemed to understand her sadness, which makes Penny disappointed. She decides to tell Giulia the truth*
Penny Marcovaldo: I Know... but Giulia, there's something I must tell you... I promised Papa I'd keep this a secret. But when I touch the water my hands grow webs like a frog and I have scales and blue hair and I'd be thinking Hey, am I a Sea Monster?... *she trails off*
*Giulia just stands there thinking it's was a joke. After a moment of silence, she bursts into laughter.*
Giulia Marcovaldo: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! A sea monster??? Really??? Ha, you must be joking, Penny!
*Penny stares at her twin sister with an angry look on her face that her disappointment had transformed into.*
Giulia Marcovaldo: *her smile fades* Oh, sorry Penny... I'm just so worried about you. Oooh, and Ercole Visconti has a crazy crush on you. I know you'd never like him he is a jerk.
Penny Marcovaldo: *she smiles* Hey, I can't stand him because I'm beautiful.
Giulia Marcovaldo: Don't worry about it Penny! Today's a brand new day in Portorosso! Come on now, sis, let's go! Papa is making breakfast!
Penny Marcovaldo: *she sighs* Ok, Giulia...
DURING BREAKFAST...
*The sisters chat as Penny feels sad and worried about her sister's reaction to the truth*
Penny Marcovaldo (thinking): Giulia, I'LL TELL YOU THE TRUTH SOMEDAY! I just wish I had a friend....
AFTER BREAKFAST...
After Penny and Giulia finish eating their breakfast, they got on their bikes, getting ready to sell fish as they rode through Portorosso, the girls spotted Ercole Visconti bullying two new boys the sisters had never seen. These boys were in fact Luca Paguro and Alberto Scorfano.
