The Attack

The woman

I got to my boyfriend's place but all I saw from the car was blood on the outside and I was scared to get out. I opted to honk the horn to see if anyone comes out or check if I'm safe. I wasn't. The moment I honked the horn I heard a screech from behind me and when I turned I saw someone or what use to be somebody sprinting to the car. I backed the car into them knocking them down, I didn't care to get out of the car. I waited there for 15 minutes waiting for him to come out or something but nothing. NOTHING. Am I really alone now? Do I have to go through this new world without him by myself? I'm so scared. I heard strange noises as the sun went down so I crawled into the backseat and hid on the floor covering myself with a blanket to hide better. I tried to sleep but couldn't shut my eyes for more than 5 mins at a time because of the screams in the distance and the growling and the screeching. The fear. Until I heard tapping on the car window, the tapping turned to knocking and turned to banging. I popped my head up a little to see what was up without giving out that I was in here. It was a woman she was silently crying pleading to be let in. My better nature told me to let her in but before I even shifted to I caught myself.

"Why should I? Is this a trap? Is she bitten? Is she going to kill me? Where did she come from? Can I trust her? Should I trust?" Despite me thinking negatively I popped up entirely letting her view me. She started pleading to be let in, I asked her "are you bitten?" She replied "no I promise" and started showing me her arms and neck. "What do you want?" I asked, "I just want a place to stay for the night I will leave in the morning" she's starting to cry. I brought my knife out just in case and I opened the door letting her in but letting her knowing the rules.

- keys stay with me

- do anything to harm me and I will kill you

This was survival of the fittest and I refuse to die before I get answers even if I have to do the unthinkable. As I put down the rules she just nodded and didn't say I single word, I asked to see her legs and torso to make sure she for sure wasn't bitten. She wasn't she looked cleared of any bite marks and with that, we slept. 

The next morning when I woke up the car door was open and she was being mauled by a zombie. I was in shock just staring I was scared and didn't know what to do, the zombie looked at me and muttered "the king will see you soon" and crawled away. WHAT THE HELL DID THAT THING MEAN? Did a zombie just...speak to me? Who the hell is 'king'? Before I could process everything I saw her starting to compulse so I slammed the door shut and sat for a minute. I crawled to the front seat, put my seat belt on, and put the car in gear. My sister used to work at chic-fil-a maybe she went there with my mom. "wait so if zombies are 'saving' me for the king does that mean...they won't bother me? Am I immune to them?" I wasn't willing to try it so I kept driving to the chic-fil-a. When I drove by the building, it was empty completely empty, I've never seen it like this the drive-thru is always busy. I saw more zombies but no one that I remember, the faces don't even look like faces they are too deformed to even try. 

"my mom and sister are still missing, my boyfriend is probably dead, I saw a girl dying from a cannibal, that same undead cannibal talked to me, plus there is a king zombie that the other zombies are I guess saving me for? What the fuck is going on? That woman was right there and the next minute she's not.". New mission: Find my family before the zombie king finds me. I hope they're still alive. As I park and think of what to do now, I remember the last time thing I said to my mom: "hey mom I'm going to bed goodnight, I love you" "oh ok goodnight dear, I love you too sweet dreams". Thinking back she sounded scared almost as if she knew it was the last goodbye, "did she know?" I ask myself.
