"This just doesn't make any sense. Who are her real parents then."

Cheng asks a nurse who is looking at the blood test results. "Maybe she knows so we won't have to go through all the troubleshooting." Kelly says as she turns around to see Alexis starting to wake. "Hi, honey we need to have a little chat."

Alexis starts to wiggle in the bed, but she realizes her arms and ankles are tied down. "Who are you? Where am I?"

"Were you adopted?" Cheng interrupts and walks over.

"Who are you?" Alexis wiggles trying to get free.

"I told you earlier I'm Cheng and I need to know if you were adopted?"

"I don't know, okay? Please, just let me go." Alexis' voice shows desperation.

"I can't do that, you have to stay here from now on." Cheng removes a brain searching cap off her head. "Now did your parents ever tell you were adopted?"

"No, I'm their child" Alexis says as she finally stops wiggling.

"Well you're not, and this is going to make my work a lot harder than it needs to be." Cheng says angrily as he throws down the cap.

Kelly lifts up Alexis' head and pulls back her long blonde hair. "Did you remove the chip?"

"No, you need to and quick but leave it intact." Cheng says as he heads towards the door. "I want you to bring it to me when you're done get her settled in, in room 26."

"Okay" Kelly says just before Cheng closes the door. "Here sweetheart this is just a shot that will numb the area."

"Stop, I don't want it. I want to go home." Alexis says as she begins wiggling again.

"They killed your parents, there's nothing for you back home. Now stop moving. I have to do this, I promise it won't hurt." Kelly holds her head and injects the numbing medicine.

"Ouch" Alexis yelps in pain.

"Oh come on that didn't hurt that bad, give it a few minutes for the numbness to kick in." Kelly begins taking the restraints off Alexis.

"What are you doing?"

"Letting you out, I'm going to have to trust you and you're going to have to trust me and we can't work towards that if you are tied up all the time." Kelly finishes undoing all the restraints and grabs a scalpel. "Here lean on your side so I can take out your chip."

"What's a chip?" Alexis asks as she leans on her side.

"Everyone has one. It keeps track of everything that you've ever done, and hopefully your real parents. It also tracks your location and we need it to look like you're dead." Kelly cuts a slit in the back of Alexis' neck to reveal a small plastic chip. "Woah" She carefully takes it out and places it into a paper towel to dry up the blue blood. "Did you know you have blue blood?" She starts placing stitches over the horizontal cut.

"I mean, doesn't everybody?"

"Not like this, yours is bright blue, now I can understand why Cheng was so confused." She finishes stitching and wipes the excess blood, only to present to Alexis to show her how extraordinary it is. "See bright blue, out of all my years I've never seen anything like it."

"Huh, what does it mean?" Alexis asks as she sits back up.

"I'm not sure, but we should probably hurry up here and get this to Cheng." She picks up the chip and wipes the blood from it. "Come on, follow me, I'll show you around and get you to your room."

"What time is it?" Alexis asks as she follows Kelly down the hallway.

"It's almost noon. I can take you to the dining hall if you're hungry. I'm sure there's plenty of people there waiting to meet you."
