"Don't patronize the person I've become"
_________
Too busy feeling sick to her stomach, while staring at the black cellular phone in her hand, Yu had failed to keep her head up. So, when rounding the corner, she was all but expecting to run into a familiar face.
Literally.
"OOF" It felt like she had just collided with a brick wall. "What the...?" After rubbing her nose, the tattered blonde glanced upwards. Her dangerous spiral of involuntary thoughts coming to a fast- but temporary & much needed close.
That's where she had noticed a tuft of messy green hair sticking out from under a grey & black hood, while a pair of fierce emerald orbs stared blankly at her.
It had been over a year since she had last seen him, but he was unmistakable.
It turns out the 'brick wall' her face slammed into was not a brick wall, but the sturdy chest of Izuku Midoryia
"Midoryia-kun? Is that you?"
Giving the woman in-front of him a quick once over, Izuku tilted his head to the side confused "I'm sorry ma'am, but do I know you?"
Oh right. She wasn't wearing her hero costume. Midoryia had never met or learned of her secret identity. Only she-of his, because of him being the main player of the 'after-war scramble'. She was brought in to assist him, All-Might and the top three hero's along with Kamui Woods & Edgeshot.
So, she's gonna have to play this carefully, or she might expose her secret identity.
Oops.

Izuku picked at his food with a pair of wooden chopsticks. Poking and prodding at a piece of overbooked meat. From beside him, his best friend- Ochaco Uraraka was talking his ear off. Rambling about something to do with the upcoming 'Third Year Ball Extravaganza' and what her plans, as the event organizer, were for it.
"..plus I think the symbolism is awesome! I'm sure that.."
While she was doing so, his mind was off far away. He wanted to listen, showing his first actual friend the respect she deserves, but even still, it fell on deaf ears. His mind was too clouded and his focus was elsewhere, because he was taking a unintentional deep dive into a very dangerous place.
That place?
His mind.
Memories are like a double edged sword. Some good, some bad. Some joyful, some sorrowing.
Thinking back, honestly, he wouldn't be surprised if he was inconsolable at this point. He was now such a far-shot from that lovable, innocent & nerdy cinnamon roll that he used to be. It was honestly scary how much he's changed in such a short time.
Since the time of his temporary vigilantism, he had done an absolute 180 in the personality department.
Whether the change be for worse or better... it mattered naught. He was a product of his environment.
He was only a silhouette of who he used to be. A mere fraction of the charismatic & soft soul that he once was.
At one point, there was even a period where he blurred the line between 'Heroism and Villainy'... or at least; that's how it was from the outside looking in.
