At school I got to see Cody everyday, he's really nice to me and I think I'm starting to crush on him. I have a strange feeling that he feels the same way about me, every time he sees me in the halls , he smiles real big and then he winks like we share a secrect or something , which I think we do.
"Hey Cody congrats on getting the part of Romeo !" I congratulate him as we walk down the hall together ," you know I think Julio should be a girl since the name of the book is called Romeo and Juliet." I point out as we push our way to the front of the door. Suddenly three girls overheard what I said had start chanting," Emma like boys ,Emma likes boys.."
My cheeks burn bright red as I watch Cody hurry off home with his best friend. I quickly run the opposite direction of the school toward home.
"well you're home early ," my mom said as I stepped through front door.
" Hi mom whats for dinner?" I ask as I took out the script for Romeo and Julio and set it out on the table . I couldn't contain my excitement right after my other mother got home.
" hey guess what mom, " I said as we sat down to eat . " I got a part in Romeo and Julio I'm the midwife isn't that cool ?!"
"Um I thought we were trying out for football instead of foolish plays and besides who gave you the part?"Questioned mom.
"Mr. Stern my drama teacher, he said I fit the part perfectly he-"
" Isn't he the heterosexual man that just moved down the street with his wife this fall? hes a disgusting man ,I'll need to call the school and get him fired , he isn't a good influence on children like Emma and I don't want you particapating in this play. You understand and why don't you try out for basketball instead."
"But mom I really want to do this please let me just this once please I wont ask again I promise!"
"Emma no you need to try out for bball got it I don't want to hear anymore about this stupid play ok ?" Mom huffed
"Yes ma'm ." I replied
I shuffled up the stairs my heart in my stomach .
