Reaper was so utterly exhausted It had been such a long day but he knew he had to wait to go home. Geno was having the place painted and he didn't want Reaper or the kids home. Reaper nibbled at his chips and laid his head on the table.
". . . Reaper?"
Reaper groaned and turned his head over. He was too tired for this. "What?"
A cool hand touched his forehead. "You're running a fever..."
"Wow isn't that familiar." Reaper couldn't help the smart remark. "Gonna leave me alone now that I'm sick?"
"Blue jay..."
"What, mother? I'm very tired today." He snapped sitting up.
She frowned lightly. "Oh Reaper..." She pulled Reaper into a warm hug.
Reaper blinked and... he found himself hugging back. He was too tired to resist and honestly... He really wanted a hug. He couldn't remember the last time his mother hugged him... He gripped onto the back of her shirt.
"I love you Bluejay..."
Reaper jolted up and stared down at the half eaten plate of chips. He must have dozed off... "I guess I'm more tired than I thought..."
