We had been into rehearsals for about two weeks when we finally got the sugar glass panels in. They finally put some up for us to do Adrenalize to show how it was going to go. Brady, Mark and I were the only ones that knew how to do the pressure points so they would be easier to crack. We had been working with the bungees constantly and the bars. The bungees worked really well on the iron apparatus they had built for us. It actually inspired to come up with new ideas.
The three of us were up on the panels creating pressure points so we could do a run through to see how it would look. They were going to film it from the sound booth. We all had on our bungees as a precaution. We started the furthest away from the stage and worked our way back. I had already done two panels. Luna was doing Maria's make-up, showing her new ideas. Stella was in the back towards the sound booth working on rigging the neck swings on the other bungees.
The band was just hanging on the stage working on their instruments. I could hear Jax as he started yelling at some young roadies that were screwing around. It distracted me slightly and I pounded just a little too hard. Crack! Smash! Down I went and the bungee did not spring. I immediately flipped and landed on my back, just like my trainer taught me to do. He told me to never land on my front. I banged my head, and it knocked the wind out of me.
"Journey!"
"Oh my God!"
"Don't move!"
"Babe!"
I was gasping for air. I hit the floor that hard. Next thing I knew, Travis, Stella, Jax and Luna were around me. Travis grabbed my face.
"Look at me, baby."
I looked at him.
"Are you hurt?"
"Call 911," Stella yelled."No," I got out.
"No, why?"
"Everyone...out."
"What? What does she mean?"
I looked at Luna and Travis. Focusing on Luna.
Get everyone out of the room now.
Her eyes bugged out at me.
"Stella, honey, why don't you go get some water and a towel, huh?"
"Yeah, I can do that."
"Breathe, baby. Look at me."
Luna knelt down; "What do you need?"
"Chris."
"Chris, why do you need Chris?"
I was trying to catch my breath.
Something is telling me I need Chris.
"How the fuck are you doing that? Chris!"
"I'm coming! Is she ok?"
"She says she needs you."
Maria, Kent, Randy and Chris all came over. Jax cleared everyone else out of the room. Chris knelt down beside me.
"What do you need, love?"
I was still gasping for me. Travis still was holding my head in his hands. Reaching up my hands to Chris, he took them in his while he looked down at him. Immediately, the warmth overtook our hands. Chris looked down at me in awe.
"Look, look at her eyes," Randy whispered.
"Chris, keep looking into her eyes. Whatever is going on, it's helping her," Maria said.
"Her eye color is shifting," Kent said. "I've seen it do that before."
"That's it," Travis said. "Breathe, baby, just breathe. Look at Chris and just breathe."
