Onomatopoeia

Did you hear

the pitter patter

of the rain

trying to

wash away

all my pain?

Did you hear

the loud thumping

of my heart

beating

and hammering

away all

the fruitless dreams,

all the empty promises,

all the deceptive wishes,

all empty lies,

all the bitter

sweet

poisonous

sweet talk?

Did you hear the

tick tack

of the clock

reminding

me

every second

wasted and lost

is a

broken dream,

broken soul

broken heart

until

all that's left

is  the

broken

empty shell

of me?

Did you hear

the gushing

and surging

of blood

and water

deep inside me

when you left

and never

bothered to

look back?

Did you hear

the glasses

and glaciers

shattering

and splintering

of our golden

ice castle

of dreams

when you

said everything

was a lie?

Did you see

the oversized

bitter tears

endlessly

streaming

in my cheeks

when I

saw you

kissing

another girl

after an hour

of leaving me?

Did you see

the

swishing arrows

and

richocheting arrows

I am throwing

at her

when she

swoon

over you?

Did you hear

my

wicked

victorious laughter

reverberating

across the room

when she

mutilated

and maimed

your

frozen heart

and left you

flailing

gasping

all the air

that's left

in your

crumbling

universe?

Did I hear

you begging

loudly

and

see you

crying

a raging river

tears of regret

pleading

for my love

to take

you back?

Yes!

I

am

seeing

and

hearing

you

but

you are

not hearing me...

I do not

love you...

I could not

love you

and would not

love you

because my

heart

belongs to

someone else now.
