Chapter 4 - Sleepover

Missy's POV

A Cappella and I had a sleepover that night at my place. 

"Do we have enough snacks?" A Capella. I look around at everything we had laid out. Chips, candy, fruit covered in chocolate and a bunch of other stuff. "I think so," I say. "Isn't it so exciting Kateline's back!?" A Capella asks excitedly. "Yeah. I guess?" I say, "Trust me, once you get to know her, you'll love her" A Capella. 

"Can you tell me a bit about her?" I ask, "Sure. She used to be our leader before she had to leave. When she left she made Wild Card leader" A Capella explains. "Speaking of Wild Card. Did you notice how Wild Card didn't give her a hug?" I ask her, "Oh yeah, I saw. That's what I thought would happen" A Capella says taking a banana dipped in chocolate and putting it in her mouth.

"You expected that?" I ask, "Yeah why?" A Capella asks. "Did something happened between them or something?" I ask, "Oh yeah I forgot you weren't here yet. They dated for a while before breaking up, but despite that she still made him leader" A Capella says as if it wasn't a big deal. "Dated?" I ask, "Yeah for a few years" A Capella confirms. I don't know why that made me uncomfortable, but it did.

"Also I have another question," I say, "What is it?" A Capella asks. "Why is Kateline name more you know, normal than Slo-Mo's?" I ask. "Slo-Mo's real name isn't actually Slo-mo. It's kind of like a nickname. Just like Wheels' real name isn't Wheels, but we call him that anyway because of the wheelchair" A Capella says. 

"Wait so what are Wheels and Slo-Mo's real names?" I ask, "Slo-Mo's is Nathan I think or Nathaniel, and Wheel's I think it's Oscar. I'm not sure though. We haven't called them that in a long time" A Capella says. "Is your real name A Capella?" I ask, "Yeah mine is A Capella" She replies.

"Say do you know that Brooke girl?" I ask, "No. Either I don't remember her or I never met her" A  Capella says, "Although she seemed pretty close with Linny. Maybe Wild Card might remember her. After all, I was only 6 when she supposedly left" A Capella asks. "Linny?" I ask, "Yeah. It's a nickname we gave Kateline as well as; Kate, Katie, Kat, Lin, and Kae" A Capella says.

"Wow seems like you all really love her," I say, "Yeah she's awesome," A Capella says. The A Capella sees the look on my face. "Hey, you okay Missy?" She asks me, "What? Oh yeah. Just a lot to take in. A sea creature attack, a mysterious man, two new members on our team. A lot happened" I say. 

"Yeah, although I wouldn't count Kateline as a new member. And They might also be on the Heroics team. They had those com bracelet things that all the Heroics have, but we don't" A Capella says, "True. I guess they might now join our team" I say. 

"I hope they do. Then again it's really cool seeing them fight with our parents" A Capella says. "Now enough talk about Heroes and stuff. Let's do some other things that people do in sleepovers like watch a movie, or paint each other's nails" A Capella says ending this conversation.

Brooke's POV

Guppy wanted to have a sleepover in her room which used to be my room. "Why did you leave?" Guppy asks curiously, "To train with my powers," I say. "Will I have to do that?" Guppy asks, "I'm not sure," I say. "I don't want to," She says, "You don't have to do it if you don't want to. I think I agreed to do it because it helps me control my powers, but you can control your powers just fine" I say.

Guppy thinks for a little bit before running out of the room. When she comes back she has popcorn, drinks, and a movie disk in her hand. "Can we watch a movie?" She asks, I giggle a bit "Of course" I reply. 

We end up watching a few Disney movies before falling asleep. Our parents must have come in at one point because when I got up the next morning there was a blanket on top of me and Guppy. I go into the bathroom to brush my teeth and get ready before waking up Guppy. 

"Guppy wake up," I say quietly shaking her gently, "What time is it?" She asks groggily, "7 O'clock, we have to get to Heroics Headquarters in fifteen minutes," I say in a gentle voice, "Why can't you just let a seven-year-old sleep," Guppy says, "Come on, I'll drive you to Heroics Headquarters if you want and you can sleep in the car, but you have to get up and get ready," I say. "Plus I think mom made pancakes," I say, "Pancakes?" She says getting up. 

"Yes now come on," I say pulling her up. She finally gets dressed and goes downstairs to eat her breakfast. After that, we ride a shark underwater to get to the surface, and then I drive us to Heroics Headquarters in a car that I make out of water.

When we walk in Slo-Mo, Kateline, Noodles, Wheels, and Wildcard are already there. "Good morning you too" Kateline greets us when we walk in, "Good morning" Guppy and I reply. Then Ms. Granada walks in with Ojo a few minutes later. She gives Ojo a hug and then turns to me and Kateline. "Oh good, you're both here," She says to us. 

"The Heroics are fighting a magma monster of some sort in a nearby volcano. We need you both there now. I'll send you the coordinates" She says, "We're on it" Kateline says. "See you later," I say hugging Guppy before Kateline and I rush out the door. Just as we rush out the door, A Capella and Missy come in.

"So I take it you and Guppy are getting along great" Kateline says to me as we rush out the main door of Heroics Headquarters, I create a path made of water that goes up into the sky (Like Lavagirl did with her lava/magma) while Kateline starts flying. 

"Really well. She apparently always wanted a sister" I say, "I know, she used to tell me that all the time" Kateline says, "Really?" I ask, "Yeah, I was kind of like a big sister to everyone, well except Wildcard. And Guppy would always tell me she wished for a real sister" She says, "And you didn't tell me!?" I exclaim, "I didn't tell you because I knew you would be fine," She says.
