Wild Card's POV

"You could say that"

We both look to the side immediately. Oh no. Brooke. I don't know Brooke well, but I know well enough that she wouldn't be happy about me insulting her best friend.

"Um hi, Brooke!" I say awkwardly, We don't really talk to each other, and when we do, it's mainly through Kateline. "Hey" She replies before turning to Missy. "Missy are you okay?" She asks, "What? Oh yeah," Missy replies snapping out of her thoughts.

"We're all really worried about you, how are you feeling?" She asks, "I'm okay, I just have a lot of things in my head" Missy replies. Brooke nods her head understanding. "Maybe you should go back to the classroom and talk to A Capella about it. I don't know her well, but I know that she's your best friend, and talking to Kate always helps me" She tells her. "Thanks, Brooke," Missy says getting up and grabbing her book.

We watch Missy leave before Brooke turns to me. "Wild Card, do you mind if we talk?" She asks me, "Sure?" I say unsure. How ironic. We leave the library and she leads me... out of the building? We walk to the shore, I'm assuming she finds it peaceful here or something being Sharkboy's daughter and stuff.

"If this is about Kate, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that, she is a great superhero, and really amazing one, I just-" Brooke cuts me off. "I know what you mean, and you're right, Kateline's not as great as everyone thinks, even she's said that over a hundred times, we all aren't as good as the media thinks we are," She tells me.

We sit by the shore in silence for a bit, I watch as Brooke walks up to the waves and small fish emerge as she pets them. She walks back, "Sorry about that" She apologies before sitting down again as we both sit in silence. Finally, she speak up. "I know we don't really talk much, but I want to know you, and not just as Kateline's friend" Brooke says.

I don't say anything as she sighs. "How about we do this, why don't you tell me something about you,"  She says, I shrug, "Alright then" I reluctantly agree. "Well, I'm Wild Card, and I guess you could say I'm a Wild Card" I answer. Oh my gosh. That was possibly the stupidest thing I could have said. I think to myself.

Apparently, Brooke thought it was funny considering a laugh. "Why don't I go" She says, "Hi, I'm Brooke, I'm sixteen, I have an amazing younger sister Guppy, and I love spending time by large lands of water that have creatures."

"Now you try... again," She tells me

Brooke's POV

"Now you try... again," I tell him.

"Alright, I guess. I'm Wild Card and I like inventing things with my dad" He replies. "Inventing? Really? That's awesome, what do you and your dad invent?" I ask, "Um, I mean I help him with his jetpack, and we used to create gadgets that we thought could be useful while battling superheroes."

"Nice, like what?" I ask, I'm actually genuinely intrigued, I've never heard anyone mention Wild Card inventing things. Not Kate, not the Jr. Heroics, not the Heroics, not even Tech-No himself. It's kind of neat that he's telling me this stuff. I wonder if anyone else knows.

"Well one time when I was younger, we tried inventing a sort of flat box that would shoot out electric beams that turned into superfast drying glue to trap villains in, but the glue dried way too fast, like faster than we had initially wanted it too. It would lose all the glue's stickiness and just end up hitting the opponent with dried glue. Which was defective." He explained.

"I think it's a pretty cool idea. You know, when someone first thinks about the idea of a flat-electric-blasting-glue-box, it sounds like turning the beams to glue would be the hardest part of inventing, which is kind of cool how you and your father faced a completely different problem."I tell him. "Yeah. Kind of"
