Few weeks later.
Pushing the door open Sohye slowly entered the room. A freshly bathed Jeongguk coming to her sight as she smiled closing the door behind her. Jeongguk looked up at her through the book he had been reading clad in fresh hospital clothes as he grinned huge upon the sight of her.
Sohye walked up to him placing her purse down dressed in her office attire as she took the bag in her hand to Jeongguk.
"Hi princess" He smiled greeting when she pecked his lips. "Hey," Sohye sat in front of him smiling at her boyfriend "How are you up so early" "I'm always up early" Jeongguk cutely protests as Sohye giggled.
She put the bag she was holding on the bed, "I brought you some soup, since you're, you know..., having troubles in eating solid food now" Her voice was sad but she smiled nonetheless. Jeongguk's eyes brightened up upon the mention of food.
Sohye put the small table on the bed as she placed the neatly packed soup in front of him. Pulling out a spoon and chopsticks.
Jeongguk happily let her feed him as he ate like a kid. Their was pain along the length of his throat, nothing he couldn't handle and it was far better than usually, so he didn't show it. Not wanting to make her feel bad.
Sohye worriedly gazed at his form as she wiped the corner of his mouth when he finished the soup. Jeongguk had been loosing weight, the doctor had said this would happen but seeing him look weaker everyday made her heart tinge in pain.
Jeongguk was getting weak due to his condition but so was Sohye. He hated to see everyone worrying so much about him, his mother, father and Sohye. Heck even Mina and Jin.
This was the biggest reason he didn't talk about his deteriorating condition before. He always shook it off letting his tiredness being the ultimate reason.
When seeing Sohye turn to him after keeping away the finished bowl looking at him through tired eyes but managing to keep a bright smile. He sighed cupping her face affectionately.
"You know you don't have to come twice everyday, Sohye" He spoke softly. "And you know I want to."
"But baby you're just exhausting yourself" He said again looking into her eyes "Coming here before and after work. You barely sleep"
"Jeongguk we decided not to talk about this" She said sighing holding his hand.
"But you look so tired" He tried again but Sohye was nowhere near considering his approaches. She wouldn't deny coming to the hospital every morning and then going to work but coming back to see him again in the night before going home was tiring as hell. But she also knew she wouldn't even be able to sleep the few hours if she didn't see Jeongguk. The house without Jeongguk was empty and already too much to handle.
Sohye wanted to spend as much time as she could with her boyfriend, her only love. She wanted to be their with him.
As much as Jeongguk wanted to be with her every second he knew he couldn't be selfish. He wanted her to be healthy and not get sick because of him.
"I'm fine." She smiled trying to shake off the topic and Jeongguk let her. "Anyways I got you something" Her eyes glinted with excitement and Jeongguk couldn't help but grin himself.
"Their's more?" He asked amused, chuckling when she hurriedly walked over to her purse pulling out a long rectangular gift box.
The box was beautifully covered with matte black wrapping paper as a white ribbon adored it's exterior. His eyebrows furrowed a little a small smile still present as he gently took it from her.
Jeongguk looked at her as she simply nodded smiling. He opened the ribbon carefully unwrapping it as he opened the lid. Soon a huge grin infected his face, bunny teeth poking out.
"You got it fixed!" He exclaimed pulling out the iron man figure, the hand which broke few days back now perfectly entact to the toy.
"You must've missed talking to him right?" She teased Jeongguk smiling as he chuckled shaking his head. "Ahh, I love you so much!" Jeongguk said pulling the girl gently by her face as he placed his lips on hers. Sohye smiled instantly kissing him back.
"And I love you" She whispered when he pulled away resting his forehead against hers.
They pulled away quick when the door opened revealing Jeongguk's mom. She entered with a sweet grin as she sat beside her. "Sohye-ah you should head to work. You don't wanna be late now, do you?" She said eyes crinkling as she smiled lightly.
Sohye nodded as she hugged her and gave a small peck to Jeongguk as she bid them goodbye. Walking out of the hospital Sohye smiled to herself fingers gently touching her lips when she suddenly squealed happily ignoring the strange looks she got from the people around.
Things weren't going very great but she could definitely enjoy the little moments with Jeongguk. She loves him and she knows nobody can make her feel like this.
