Forgetting Something? 🤔

Finally the dream was over! You woke up in your hammock. Your dog who refused to sleep on his own, was in between your legs fast asleep. You carefully moved him aside. Sabrina was at her desk picking up her tools. Macie was nowhere to be seen. You yawn loudly and your sister looks up.

"Your up early. It is 10:30am - sunday." She added. She hurried over to her desk. "I have something for you." She hands you what looked like a smart watch.

You take it and put it on, while Sabrina ran over to a platform and stood on it. She presses a button on a remote. Immediately the watch on your wrist buzzed, on the screen it read 'Sabrina Calling'

"Press that button on the side." You do as you're told. And your sister's image hovers over the watch, and mimics every move she makes.

"Oh. Those two dials. One is volume and the other is size. What do you think?"

"I think this is brilliant!" You said. She stepped off the platform smiling. "But what if I have to get to you?"

"Just hold down the answer button and say 'call blank' it's connected to your phone." She said lazily.

"Thanks." You say walking towards the stairs.

"I saw your dream." Said Sabrina. You stop mid step up the stairs. Figures she would use her mind reading quirk while you were asleep. "Do you always have to have that same one?"

"If I could dream about unicorns, fairies, rainbows, and freaking pixie dust! I would very much rather it be so!"

Sunday Evening
You lay face down on your bed head buried in the pillows. You have gotten used to seeing the memory every weekend for the past 5 years. Yet you were not used to the feeling.

It felt so real. With nothing else to do you go downstairs. In the living room Macie was in her playpen watching TV. And Sabrina was asleep on the couch.

You move her legs then sit, and put her legs back on your lap. Yes you could have just gone to another couch but you wanted touch from another person. To feel . . . secure.

Your house, yes your house was built for at least a dozen or more. It had so many rooms you had no use for. It had four stories. And a nice roof that you like to retreat to from time to time.

Zoning out watching those cartoons Macie likes so much, you got startled when the dogs began barking.

You look at the clock and it was 3:05. No! You forgot to cancel letting Granites younger brother and sister come over. Their mother was gone at work all the time and you never knew about their father.

At the start of the week they come over for school because it is closer. And their mother can't take the time off to walk them or she would lose her job.

You grudgingly open the door.
"Y/N!" Kennedy ran up and hugged you tightly. He was a spitting image of Granite. Long white hair, pointed ears, and piercing blue eyes. He was only six when his brother died. His sister was four. Their mother stood looking tired in the doorway.

"Well, so - uh." You struggle to find the right words. "Mrs. B I can't take Jennifer and Kennedy anymore."

"Why not?"

"Because - uh. . . well I just got a job and I am only off on the weekends."

"You got a job now! How wonderful for you!" Then Mrs. Brixbee realized what you were getting at. "Oh? Oh! I see. . . "

You sit in silence. Sabrina, who was playing with Macie, Jennifer and Ken, turned around.

"I could do it." She said, "I'll watch them during the day and at night Y/N could watch them"

Mrs. Brixbee looks at you and hopefully you nod sharply.

"I will drop them off on my way to work." You said. Later that night after you put both of them to bed, you retreat to your room. And begin to read from your large collection of books for the rest of the night.

Monday Morning
Turns out you had really lost track of time because the next thing you knew, Sabrina came bursting into your room.

"Y/N! You are supposed to leave in ten minutes! And you guys aren't even ready!" She said yanking the blanket off of you. You groan loudly rolling over. "Great you fell asleep! Now you are going to be slow today! Get up!"

You couldn't focus on anything she said. Slowly getting out of bed you begin putting your hero outfit on.

Sabrina comes back in and puts your special drink on your bed.

"Drink up, you have no time to sleep. That'll give you some extra stamina." She watches you put your two katanas in its scabbards on your back, two hunting knives, lastly putting your two pistols on each hip. "Do you seriously need all that? You are a teacher for Christ sakes."

"What if little boy crank and his gang start up and I'm stuck weaponless? Or any of our countless enemies?"

"Point taken. Jen and Ken should be ready by now." Sabrina left downstairs as did you after your drink. You would usually make breakfast but there was no time.

"Guess it is time to pull out the old sled like last time." Sabrina said, handing you a cup of coffee. "It will be faster."

"No!" You say quickly, nearly spilling your coffee. "If we could walk real fast-"

"Please!" Begged Jennifer. "It will be fun!"

"C'mon let loose once in a while." Sabrina encouraged.

"I'll show you fun." You grumble draining the last of your drink. "You two grab the sled and meet me in the front."

"Have a good day. And please don't do anything reckless." Sabrina said as you went out the door.

You grunt in response. Still feeling rather grumpy with the lack of sleep.
* * *
"This is ridiculous. . . " You thought: you had ropes tied around your feline waist. Once you morphed everything that you were wearing goes along with your weapons and all. As a Cheetah you were given the abilities of this creature to its fullest. It even made it easier for you to weave around the trees.

After you drop them off, you speed your way to work, leaving the sled in the woods by their school so your sister could pick it up later.

You just get through the front doors when you are met with a cheery Present Mic. . . . .
