A/n: sorry this took so long! I was having trouble figuring out how to write something, do not worry, I'm working on chapter 6 right away.
Warnings: suicidal (?) thoughts,
hurt/comfort.Despite the warm temperature of summer, today was quite a cold day. The thin walls did little to keep the cold outside of the Momobami mansion. It was nearly seven o'clock in the morning, dim pale light seeped through the window of Ririka's room.
In the bed, beneath the blanket her figure curled in the fetal position, trying to hold as much as heat possible. Her head hurts, tried from the cries of last night, her mind contorted in pain, memories melting with white and black and red, pure and simple hate and sorrow. The door of her room opened slightly, revealing a blurry silhouette. Blue met blue and Kirari stepped into the room.
"Ririka..." the sound of the voice was hollow resonating in Ririka's head who desperately tried to speak despite the dryness of the throat.
"Yes?"
"It's time to wake up"
A groan left her lips"... What time is it?" her voice was hoarse and husky, faint.
"It's 7:30. I'd normally tell you to move your ass but today you're not coming to school."
"Huh?! Why?" Strangely, she didn't want to stay home. Staying home without Kirari by her side means staying home alone with her dark thoughts who could potentially harm her.
"Last night I heard you crying." at that, Ririka's eyes widened:
Her brain reacted violently, threatening to spill tears from her eyes.
"... I'm so-"
"Don't even think about it. You can and will have a day off, you deserve it. He's already out of home and also mother, so today you can rest in peace." Kirari's voice was shooting, like a mother's. She really seemed to be worrying about her sister.
"Do you want to eat breakfast?"-•-•-•-
The 'breakfast' presented by Kirari could be described as a buffet. A vast variety of food laid on the table: pancakes with maple syrup, fruits, eggs and bacon and such. Coffee, tea, juices and milk.
"Woah...that's so much food. What's the occasion?" Ririka's eyes sparkled with hunger, she realized, she didn't eat in a long time.
"No occasion really, I just wanted to be a good sister for once."
Kirari stepped away from the kitchen towards the door, much to Ririka surprise."Wait, you won't have breakfast with me?"
"Nope. I already had breakfast" her lips curved into a sly smile, plotting something in her mind.
"Then why there are two plates on the table?" Kirari's hand reached for the doorknob, moving it.
"Oh! I decided you would want someone to share the day with"
The door opened to reveal Y/n, standing there with a happy smile on her face.
"Y-y/n? Why are you here?"
"Oh, Kirari invited me. she said you didn't feel weep and asked me to keep you company".
She turned to her sister abruptly, an annoyed look in her eyes. They exchanged a mental conversation'Why the hell did you invited her?! Didn't it cross for a moment in your mind that maybe she was busy? She attends school too you know. She has more important business than staying with a stupid idiot like me...'
'Don't think so low of yourself sister. She accepted as soon as I told her, she's a lovely girl. Do you intend to marry her?'
'M-MARRY?!'While they conversed Y/n just stood there begin awkward, she noticed that Ririka's cheeks started to get red and she was sweating. Not knowing the truth, she thought that Ririka was starting to get sick and worried for her.
"Ririka, you are red! It's better if you go to bed."
"Uh?!" The sisters looked completely opposite: Ririka was fidgeting around red with embarrassment while Kirari had a happy smile on her face, a genuine one: she thought that they looked cute together.
"Y/n-san, there's breakfast ready for you two inside, Riri will lead you to it. her shooting voice explained.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I will go to school. I wouldn't be a good president if I wasn't there before everyone else".
With that, the taxi waiting for her drove off leaving a very embarrassed Ririka and a confused Y/n.
"..."
"..."
"...So...um..."
"...do you wanna eat breakfast?"
"Yeah"
Ririka guided Y/n into her house. She had been surprised when she saw the Zen garden which surrounded the mansion, but the real surprise came when her eyes landed on the inside of the house: the house decor consisted of traditional Japanese furniture, precious paintings, a wooden floor, blue and grey and gold dominating every corner of the house, everything screamed 'fancy' obnoxiously.
The dining room had a big dining table full of food, a crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling and beautiful paintings.
"Make yourself home."
Food and food stood before Y/n, unsure of what to do, the girl just stood there watching the breakfast like a video game final boss.
"Y/n? Is everything alright?"
"Uh, oh yeah yeah it's just... I never witnessed this much food in my entire life!" a little drool falling from her mouth told Ririka that Y/n was hungry as ever.
"Let's get to eat then"
"Why is there so much food anyway?"
"Kirari wanted to
"So, what do we wanna do today? I seemed to understand you went through a horrible night, Kirari said you catch a cold, so maybe we should stay home?"Yeah, a cold.
"By the way, your house is super cool! I love the st..."
Ririka couldn't listen to Y/n, it wasn't like she didn't want to, but her ears blocked the girl's voice. She thinks you're an idiot.
You are worthless.
Piece of shit, you deserve to die.
No wonder your family despises you.
Why were you even born?"...house must be really old! To what era does this house date back? Hey Riri you there?" Y/n voice rang in her head.
"Yeah...I'm just a little tired, that's all."
"Oh okay..."
A heavy silence fell over the two girls.
"So, um..."
"To answer your previous question... I don't know what to do today, I don't mind..."For my existence is so pathetic I don't even deserve to make decisions.
"W-what?"
Fuck, did she just heard you?
Well, aren't you happy now?!
She hates you.
Crawl in a hole and die.
Pathetic."Ririka you deserve to make decisions, you aren't pathetic." Y/n hand crawled to Ririka's ones and gently cupped drawing circles on their back.
"You just need to strengthen your self-esteem and maybe talk to someone who can help you. I meant a therapist but I'm also a good listener! You can count on me every time."
Those words flashed Ririka with bright blinding light showering her with a strange feeling.Grief? Pain?
Happiness, hope.Love.
