some time in the future...

michael stared at himself in the long mirror located in the southwest region of the room he was in. it was his dressing room.

it was his wedding day.

it had taken him a lot of strength and fighting to get where he was and there he stood tall, but he felt lost.

lost of words.

lost of... life.

he was marrying the "woman of his dreams", but in truth he was marrying who he thought he needed to marry.

instead, he let the love of his life slip away from him like silk. so easily, yet so painfully unbearable. it pained him knowing she lived in a different state from him. it pained him knowing she had moved on.

it was the worst he'd ever felt.

michael loved the woman he was marrying—but he wasn't in love with her. he was in love with aavya.

the woman who swept him off of his feet.

he felt such guilt for having feelings for another woman. he felt icky.

he felt like a horrible human being because he hated cheating—he seriously couldn't stand it. so the thought of him cheating made him want to crawl in a hole.

because he's been cheated on. he's went through it. and he couldn't even look himself in the mirror proudly.

"you foul, man." he told himself, because he felt out of place. he needed to love the woman he was marrying but he simply didn't.

not the way he loved aavya.

soon his thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door.

"you ready, mike?" xoe asked, proudly being his best woman.

michael hopelessly looked to her and slowly shook his head.

"i can't marry her."
