Tommy & Tubbo

Someone shouted from inside Tubbo's house before a girl, looking to be in her early twenties, stomped outside with steam coming out of her ears. A few birds on the house roof scattered at the loud noise of the door slamming shut behind her. Tubbo raced out of the room, slamming the door shut again, and the rest of the birds scattered once more across the sky.

"ARI! Where are you going?" Tubbo shouted, running up to her window and knocking on it.

His sister didn't even look at him, starting the car and muttering something he couldn't hear from outside. She backed the car out of the driveway and drove off. Not giving the house or Tubbo a second look.

Tubbo stood there with his hands at his side, trying to comprehend what just happened.

"You don't seriously think you and Tommy can be pro heroes do you? Like, that's a childish dream. He has a common light-based power and you, while it might be rare, have a non-physical type of power. They will just laugh at you boys, you realize this?"

"Ari, I thought you supported my dream..."

"Yeah, I did when you were younger. When I expected dad to come back like he said he would so we could have a normal life. But here we are, you're still being childish with this silly dream, I'm the adult of this house, Lani is going to school and just barely passing her classes. You're not going to succeed Tubbo, when will you realize this?"

"You're my sister... why- why can't you support me in the one thing I'm actually trying at?" Tubbo screamed.

"Because we need you HERE. Life isn't this perfect fairy tale where you can run off with your best friend and watch your dreams come true!" She snapped back, gesturing wildly.

"YOU DON'T KNOW THAT!"

"YES, I DO!"

His sister turned on her heels and stomped away, slamming the door shut in Tubbo's face, leaving his spirit shattered...

As the memory plays in his head, he feels a tug on his sleeve. Tubbo blinked, snapping back to reality and he looked over to see Lani, his younger sister, with confusion on her face.

"Oh- Lani..." Tubbo murmured, trying to hold in tears and stay strong as if nothing was wrong.

"Is Ari coming back?" Lani glanced at the road, a look of longing on her face hoping the car would pull back down the street.

"Yeah- she just needs some time ok? Don't worry about it, just go do your homework..." He smiled, lying through his teeth. When in reality he knew the truth, she wasn't coming back. Once someone in their family leaves, they never come back...

"But-"

"Lani, please." He begged, pushing her back inside.

She looked back to the door one last time before heading up the stairs to her room, slamming her door and causing Tubbo to flinch at the sudden noise.

After a moment everything had gone silent, silent enough for Tubbo to crumple and tears to start spilling out. He just lost another family member. His own sister, and for what? A stupid dream that like she said, he might as well give up on? What was wrong with him?

The tears kept coming as he clenched his fists and slid down the wall, banging the ground repeatedly.

"I'm a failure. I'm selfish," He choked back a sob, failing as more tears stained his face and he curled in on himself. "Why did I pick my stupid dream over my own family..."
