Chapter 28

Rian was really here, I then get up from his lap quickly. We both stand up, "I'm so glad I found you," he tells me, "Why are you here?" I ask him, "Was looking for you with Gurjin and Naia who followed me, we saw Hup and Lore and Hup said you were down here and I found you pasted out," he tells me.

I look at him, he's not infected. I was scared from what I saw because of us Jen has a fate where he is alone. I held myself in my arms, I was shaking. "Deet what's wrong?" he asked me trying to touch me, but I moved away. "Don't touch me!" I tell him, he seemed surprised by me. "Deet," he said my name. It was quiet between us, "Maybe you shouldn't have taken the power from the Sanctuary Tree," he tells me.

I was quiet, "Deet," he said my name, "Rian just please leave me alone," I tell him, "Leave you alone? Right after I just found you? No," he tells me. "Rian please you don't understand I need to do this on my own," I tell him. "And that being?" he asked me, I let out a breath. "This power I need to figure it out on my own," I tell him. He looks at me, "This power is dangerous Rian, you saw what I did back at Stone-In-The-Wood. I can hurt someone, I can hurt you," I tell him.

He looks at me, I was still hugging myself, he then takes my hand. "Rian!" he said. He put one hand over his heart. I was scared what if I hurt him. But nothing, I take my hand back. "Nothing happened," he tells me. "I guess I have some control I don't know but still," I tell him.

"Then let me help," he tells me. "No no Rian I can't accept anymore help, I need to try and do this on my own," I tell him. "Deet, you made the choice to take the tree's power without a second thought and look at you, you're scared," he tells me. I look down, "I don't know where you have been or what you have been doing but all I know is I want to help in some way," he tells me.

I look at him, "I appreciate it Rian but I need to do this alone so please leave me alone," I tell him, I begin to walk away but he grabs my wrist. "Let go!" I tell him, "No Deet," he tells me. "Please Rian I can!" I tell him, "Then hurt me! I don't care Deet as long you are safe that's all I care about," he tells me. I look at him, "Please Rian I don't know what I can do, I don't want to hurt you," I tell him.

He pulls me close and places his lips on mine. I froze but closed my eyes and kissed him back. My heart was racing fast, I was still afraid I might hurt him. He then pulls away, we look at each other.

But then I remember, Jen. Because of us he holds a destiny.

I push Rian away. "I can't," I said to myself, "Deet?" Rian said my name, "I can't!" I said and ran. "Hey Deet!" he said my name. I ran and ran as fast as I can when I was grabbed by a creature, a dark creature with purple eyes. "Let go!" I said. It then put me in a basket like cage. I then see Rian. "Deet!" he said my name, "Rian find Luna and Shin they can help!" I tell them.

I know this creature I have seen it in my visions. The same ones that killed so many Gelfling, the same ones that took Brea away from her child, the same ones that left Jen alone. And I know it's taking me to the castle. The Castle Of The Crystal.
